meh, none of my aprilias leaked oil but neither have any of my 8 ducs (including the 1199). Only two bikes I ever had leak were triumphs.

As an fyi, had you bought a 2010 RSV4 you'd have had a very high likelihood of oil leak. Sorted second year.

Just thought you'd like to know.:p

My HD VRSCR doesn't, and the DUCATI SFS & 1199S don't either.

My 900sscr leaks oil, but I cut it some slack since it's almost 20 years old. 1199- no leaks.

With 2 4 1/2" coffee can sized pistons going up and down at a high rate of speed, thats a lot of volume change going on in the crank case, that makes it tuff to control oil.

I have a 2010 RSV4 Factory that has had a new engine, new valve covers and gaskets, new fuel tank all done under warranty. The engine was precautionary as the first US based bikes had the "potential" for con rod failure. The valve covers leaked and were a recall. The expanding fuel tank was fun too. Anyone that seriously thinks there is a manufacturer without problems is seriously naïve. The Japs do a great job of QC versus the Europeans, but Jap bikes are also fairly boring IMO.

Did you just get them fixed and move on or cry about it constantly on the internet ?
