My new Rotobox RBX2 Carbon Fiber Wheels

Hi guys,

Some Rotobox dealers and distributors have launched a campaign in the forums against BST, posing as end-users, after years of fruitless attempts of getting onto the market with their eastern Russian wheels.
They tried before in the past, many years ago, and failed, because of their inferior quality.

Here's an exerpt from SportRider.com

"...during our racetrack laps was a distinct feeling as if the front wheel was almost flexing at the apex of corners when the front end was heavily loaded. We also noticed that the front end moved around a lot more in the faster, bumpier turns on the track, with Bradley even complaining that “it felt like the front end was going to push or fold; you definitely have to ride the wheels with some reservation there.” No amount of chassis fiddling could quell the problem, and it zapped enough confidence that lap times were basically the same as stock.
Could this have been an anomaly with our particular set of wheels? Maybe, but at $4100 per set, that’s an awfully expensive chance to take. SR...."

The stories that are spread about BST using only a coat of carbon are not just malign, but absolute rubbish.
Ducati has been using BST on MotoGP level, not a thing that would be happening if these wheels were inferior to the high-end Marchesini's.

The fact that the interior rim does not have a second cosmetic layer to hide the bumpy surface has noting to do with quality and has 0 effect on wheel weight balance. They don't add the cosmetic layer as to save further weight.
Like was stated on this forum already, the weight comparisons that Rotobox makes are false.

If none of this data is enough, consider the warranties offered, and what they mean in reality.
Besides 2 years all-round warranty from BST, proven to be impeccable, there is the important wheel-replacement policy that is extended to the customers that were unlucky enough to crash.
Here in Taiwan we are offered BST replacement front wheels for 650usd, inc. 16% taxes and international shipping.

BST has been proven with a worldwide 10-year track record, something that can not be said by these astro-turfing Ruskies.
BTW, I am an Ohlins/BST distributor of many years, and if you think I am biased, you are probably right. That, however, does not invalidate the hard data.

I have the Rotobox wheels on my Tricolore, they look great and riding is awesome. Before I bought them I was in direct contact with Rotobox. They provided me with a special version according my wishes, no problem at all. Very nice and professional people! Quality, delivery, pricing: everything perfect.

And they reside in Slowenia (where some of the best CF part manufacturers are)!!! The top-quality fiber they use comes from Germany.

You dont know, slovenia is not Russia?
Is like saying, Taiwan is south- korea...

Jeff D is one of my good buddies and I was standing right there when the "DEAL" was made on these Rotobox CF wheels remember Jeff? (LOL!) and Im glad everyone here loves them on his bike - with a few BST owners chiming in their own love, like me too!! HOWEVER................................

........................Perhaps someone here can dig up the thread way back when i first introduced these wheels to the forum when I was working with Randy & Lyle at Belli?
You guys all hated the hell outta the Rotobox and slammed them saying BST is superior and they won't sell, ugly, spokes too big, etc etc etc!! LMFAO. Now look at yoos out there drooling over them!! - Hey its all good, time changes and Im glad there is at least an alternative - with the exemption of those astronomical Galespeed or whatever they are called 10k wheels? I'll end the story with this.......................................................................................
Jeff D is the man and made an awesome deal on these wheels. Perhaps if you PM him he can tell you the story. Also how he got excited when he met Gunny Fitz and had to get a photo with him! And how we know some of the top competition shooters in the world! GREAT GREAT GUY THAT JEFF-D!!!!

floyd111 - Who is the one spreading mis-truths around about the competition?

Since you posted this on my original thread, perhaps you are insinuating that I am actually a manufacturer or distributor? False. I have zero affiliation with Rotobox besides being a paying customer and having a good relationship as such with the store that sold them to me (Bellissimoto.com).

"The weight comparisons that Rotobox makes are false" - really? Show me a picture of your scale that shows the real comparison of weight. I've seen first hand the weight difference on a digital scale at my local shop in Orlando between RBX2 1199 wheels and BST 1199 wheels - it is exactly the same as Bellissimoto shows in their ads on their digital scales - 1 pound, 3 ounces lighter. Now you're just a liar.

The Sport Rider article you reference was a test of the first-generation Rotobox wheels, not the current RBX2 5-spoke wheels - so is that valid to post here?

Haters are going to hate, no matter the topic. Just don't lie about it like a little ...... You want to sell your wheels? Fine, then go start a new thread. Coming onto this thread to slag the competition (which no one has done to BST anywhere on this thread), is extremely poor form - no matter which culture you come from.

I didnt look back on what was said between Floyd and Jeff here about weights and such, but I assure you that Jeff is accurate and seeks the truth as I was working for Bellissimoto at the time - and was actually trying to sell those wheels to the public when they released those pics on the scale. They are true.

And this is coming from a BST owner who didnt know the gents at Bellissimoto at the time I made the purchase of them either! Not sure if you guys know this but Brocks is the true US importer of BST wheels and hooked me up something FIERCE on my set in exchange for the article they wanted to do. Brock Davidson, Jeff Grieco, and Brandy are some of the kindest folks EVER and helped me BIGTIME and helped with my special Tri build project. If I had a 2nd bike Id get a set of Rotobox- but right now its the BSTs Im sticking with! Here is the article Brocks did if you never saw it (not trying to come off conceited at all folks-thats farthest thing from my demeanor right Jeff?)

Brocks Performance: Retired Marine Corps First Sergeant Rolls with BST

Love the bike you have and try not to get wrapped up in all the small .... ok? :)
