Mentally insane? That is a bit strong. I have plugged several motorcycle tires, not to ride with the plugged tire extensively but to get back home or to the dealership for tire change. Plugging a tire is not a problem as a temporary solution if you know how to do it. If you are mentally insane or physically handicapped then call the Ducati road side assistance. Does not work everywhere on this planet.
Only a mentally insane person plugs a motorcycle tire in the first place.
Second, only an edp plugs a hole that close to the edge of the tire. But hey, its your life and bike.
I'd recommend doing as the one guy said- pick up a set of Q3's. wait the two days to get them. One or two days without the bike ain't too bad, trust me. Ask me and the other 1199 owners who have gone a month or two without their bikes due to moronic dealerships....
If you don't have it, you should inquire with your dealership if they have a tire protection package.
Had one for my S and they replaced 3 tires before i sold it. Bought my R slightly used from a guy in VA, rode home to NJ and my dealership sold me a tire protection package. $400 and they will replace up to four tires, even if the damage is a nail. heckuva deal if you ask me
Ride safe.
Buy the tire online! 3 days free shipping... also the same tire Q3 at dealer was $120 more!
