Hello everyone, I need help as I'm green to this. Last year, I changed my dash because it was broken due to moisture went inside the circuit board and damaged the cluster. I have bought a used one here on our marketplace and it went well but I haven't went to my dealership to sync it but everything is working fine "riding performance". Now fast forward after almost a year and a half, Yesterday I noticed that the bike does not throttle well meaning not responsive at all and it started backfiring. When I ride, The throttle is about 1/2 way and it it does not rev up. I have to pop the clutch for it to go up. and when I'm going around 30mph it started bogging down. Very unresponsive. Any thoughts on this problem. Please help guys! TIA!!

Make sure your fuel system and injectors are not clogged pretty common especially if the bike sits long periods of time. If that doesn't do it then start swapping MAP sensors.

Noted on that. Let me try draining the tank first and check the air vent. I heard that if that air vent is kinked it might be the culprit as well. But the mapping will be done soon. I just don't wanna get ripped off by these dealership.

Could be a faulty MAP sender on one cyl? This small frustration caused the bike to splutter no power and feel as if it’s just running in one pot, easy to test and easy to fix ...just an exp little part, is there a engine warning lamp on dash

Since I bought the new “used” cluster the check engine light were lit. But the performance is same as it was before. It just happened a weeks back. But the replacement cluster was there more than a year ago.

If the engine warning lamp is on you have a problem to test the map sender it’s easy neg on batt or frame, + 5 on the one side and with ignition on you must have less than 5volts on centre pin start bike and as you rev it that centre pin voltage must drop and fluctuate then that map sender is ok test both

I am a bit late here. Not sure if you have this solved or not. After reading. Make sure that your BBS unit and the dash are properly linked. Only the Dealership can do this for you. Good luck.

hey there. I fixed the problem. Went to my dealership and they just replaced the sparkplugs and everything is up and running. meanwhile they tried to sync the new dash to my ecu and it did not work. they said that the 1199 is not compatible with a 1299. Just kinda wierd since both looks the same "colored dash"
