Went to go for a ride today and the bike won't start. It comes on, but the bid red box appears and says ABS!. It won't allow the bike to start. I checked the connections and everything seems fine. Bike rode great yesterday. Any ideas??

No idea on what might be causing it, a friend had a problem on a Multi a while back (stone damage to one of the discs I think), anyway turning the ABS off allowed him to start the bike & ride home.

I did and oddly enough, the ABS fuses are fine, but in the left fuse box, #3 called "Key-sense" is blown. It is a 10 amp fuse, so I replaced with the spare and as soon as the key turned it blew again. Now I am even more confused...

If it blew when you put a new one in, you may have a ground fault somewhere. Start following wires and you should be able to find the culprit. Have you installed anything new on your bike or did any kind of work recently?

I'd start tracing wires and go from there, if you see any obvious signs of wear or tearing or heat damage--that may be your problem....you could also check your grounds. I had nearly the same thing happen to me and it ended up being a bolt pinching a wire in the RB module(my fault completely and it ran absolutely fine for a few months). Was riding the bike, big surge, pop and the abs light come on and the check engine light was on....turned out to be a pinched wire, cost me $300 in labor and a bruised ego. I hope you can get it figured out

Found it. Pinched wire on the oil exchanger mounting bolt. Repaired the wire and good to go. Thanks for all the advice!

The dreaded Key Sense Fuse issue appears to be a common for me. It happens at least once a year since I've owned it. This year it happened at the beginning of spring and rode all year paranoid of it cutting out (I keep a bunch of spare fuses in my tail). It only happened a second time around when I was idling for about 2 mins before I stored it for winter, then it popped. I replaced the fuse and it popped as soon as I pushed the starter button.

So now I have the bike in my garage with my NRC tail tidy removed as I prepare to trace the issue starting with the wiring on that (and only) mod. I couldn't find any other pinched wiring harnesses. If I can't fix the issue then I'll have the dealer look at it in spring before my extended warranty expires in May 2021.

Funny, I find myself often checking the boards to find some sort or "cure" or "hopeful support" from the community LMAO

Found the issue - faulty wires on the cheap LED's for the license plate frame! I disconnected the wires and ran the bike, no more fuse pops.

As suggested on the boards, retrace all mods and you're bound to find the "key sense fuse" culprit.
