Ok guys, I had a bit of a topple over while doing a photo shoot in a field. The ground was a bit mushy, but I thought I'd found a solid spot. Apparently it was only solid for about 5 minutes.

Bike is fine (not a scratch on the tank or bodywork!), but the mirror bit the dust. Anyone in Denmark, Sweden or Norway have one lying around?

If no one has a spare, I'd be happy to buy someone a new replacement (I'd buy one from a dealer, but by the time it arrived I'd be somewhere else) if I can snake theirs. I get pulled over by every cop I run across and not having a mirror is only going to lead to more trouble.

Could also use a new chain and a set of sprockets. Mine are in very bad shape.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhrgggg... nooooo....
Looks like a sweety little bamby laying dead in the field.
Sorry, first time that I'm sorry that Switzerland is not the same as Sweden :(

I hope you're doing well!
Anyway, I have a mirror for you, for free of course.

Thanks, Gecko! If my duct-tape and superglue can hold until I make it back down South, I will most certainly take you up on your offer! Riding through Germany again with no left-hand mirror is suicide on the Autobahn!

Just PM me the address where I should send the left mirror.
I'm pretty sure your expierences on the "Autobahn" will be unforgettable :)

D, in terms of autobahn, now that you have a mirror:

No matter where you go, you have to take A81 from Stuttgart to Singen (~120 miles) on a Sunday morning or evening. Most parts unrestricted.

I once did Böblingen-Konstanz in 56 minutes on a Friday afternoon :D

Have fun :D

If you need a place to stay near Stuttgart, PM me. My best friend just kicked out his wife, he has a monster S2R in the garage and is an expert on his Weber grill. You can have my room in his basement

Outstanding! I'll let ya know if/when I make it back through Germany.

This is more than 100 mph average speed! I guess you're not allowed to go back to Germany again :) :) :)

I have chain and sprocket i was going to sell
You can have cheap.
I can't post till a week Monday
If any good let me know

BowHunter has me covered and is helping with the install, too (I, err, don't exactly have a breaker bar with me for the front sprocket....nor anything else I'd need for the job!)

If he is struggling for tools, drop me a line with what's needed. Am just across the bridge in Malmo.

Thanks for the offer (passed through Malmo earlier), but fortunately BowHunter had everything I needed and then some. My front and rear sprockets were far worse than I thought. My best guess is the online retailer I scored my 520 kit from is selling knock-offs packaged like the real things (it was an RK/DID kit I believe). I had ~8-9k miles on the set and they looked like they had 40k miles on 'em.

In any case, mirror is fixed, new chain/sprockets, bike is purring like a monster. Now I'm headed into Norway and won't be able to get out of 2nd gear without risk of a $15,000 fine. ;) Hmmm...Glen, maybe you have a couple of throttle body restrictors I can borrow?

BowHunter--thank you, very much once again!

Mordor: Sending you a PM.

Great to hear you are all sorted and back on track.

Yeah, speeding in Norway isnt a good idea. In fact most of scandinavia can be pretty harsh if you are too enthusiastic with the throttle hand. Enjoy the roads and the views around the fjiords. It's spectacular up there.

Its gratifying and kind of reassuring to see so many people offer help so quickly, makes a nice change. Well done everyone :D
