Hey guys and gals, just picked up a 2014 1199S in red last Friday from Chris at Newport Beach Ducati.
I've been riding for a while now and sold my built 2005 Yamaha R6 to pick up this Italian beauty.

No big plans for the Duc, maybe a tail tidy and some levers. I would much rather invest in fine tuning and improving my RIDER MOD instead :D

Here are some quick iPhone pics from my driveway when she was delivered.

Oh the mod bug will bite. Don't you worry about that! For some, much sooner than later. I'm extremely guilty!!

Nice house, baller!

Welcome and enjoy that lil whore.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Going in on Saturday for my first service. Already threw 600+ miles on in less than a week.

He is a very nice bike indeed I am sure you will treat him nicely, very pleased to know someone out there puts plenty miles on just like me... I did 400 in first 24 hours!!

Welcome! I have been doing 200km on my 2nd hand 1199S from 2012. What a bike he compared to yamaha, i still have a yamaha r1, so i know the difference :)

Do they still offer the 41sprocket on the 2014 models to improve the low gears or is that default nowadays?

The "offer" was really no bargain... You can do it more effectively independently of Ducati...

Is pricing not the same worldwide? had it done 2 weeks ago : 74€ sprocket + 74€ chain, installation cost was on ducati here in belgium.

Sorry... I did not see you were in Belgium... I do not recall installation being free here.... The prices you quote seem reasonable.. Except have them add 2 links to your chain...You don't need a new one...

The dealer here wouldn't extend the chain, they only gave me the option for a new one.

nice! welcome! and just sayin, it doesn't look like you needed to sell your R6 to get this bike by the looks of your crib man! lol

Did they give you a reason??

Safety issue. Two master links instead of one. I think the dealer's making the right call on that. Wouldn't want a chain kludged together from multiples. Just a single continuous with a master link. O-ring or non-O-ring depending on application.

Seems like an acceptable explanation, besides 74€ for a chain is peanuts when it comes to satety, just my 2cents.
