New 1199SL Owner

Motor #1 using 12.5:1 regular ole 1199 piston and rings

And you have no clue what is going inside motor #2

Yer gonna want to buy that combo tho so be nice : )

Oil blow by, yay!
I noticed the engine does use oil up typically on 3rd track day or race day.
Other than that the oil level is consistent,
I was also told by mechanics these engines were designed to take a beating?
I have 3137 mile on her, all but the first 600-700 miles for engine break in have been track use.

The first most important thing for making good power in a reciprocating engine is a straight round hole and good ring seal

It all starts there - If ya don’t have that to begin with yer screwed

You can have the best rod length to stroke ratio, cam specs, cam timing, valve size, port cfm, valve job, ignition timing, a/f ratio, the best exhaust system in the world, and anything else you can think of (light parts, coated parts etc)...

It’s gonna be down on power if it’s not sealed up

Hi all,

Ive finally got myself an M100 after first seeing one for sale in a local garage in my early 20s and thinking about them on and off for the past 30 years.

Its an S2 with 38,000 miles, had 1 owner til 2019 and 25 Bell&Colvill services.. but needs a little TLC to get back to her best. So Im definitely going to be needing advice and help over the coming months.

Pretty new to forums, so please forgive me any hitches along the way..

Thanks
Steve
