Welcome, Reed. Post some photos and don't be shy to ask those questions. Very knowledgeable folks in this forum.

Thanks Guys for the warm welcome, I picked the bike up on Saturday and fell in love with it on the ride home, so light, powerful and the bike was in Wet Mode !!!! Already buying Paddock stands, Rad Guard and Fork Bobbins just need to get some engine bobbins - any suggestions as R&G prices are mad.

I had the Ducati alarm fitted however I am now thinking of getting a tracker fitted

Probably not a bad idea with the way bike thefts are in the UK right now. Let us know what you end up with.

How do and welcome. Glad you are enjoying the beast.

Try evo tech performance for rad guards, tail tidy and axle bobbins. You don't have to dismantle half the bike to fit the rad guard. Plus they look better!

+1 on which tracker!

Welcome Reed,
Keep an eye on your Ducati Alarm. I had some issues with mine when it got wet, the connections are under the seat/tank connection. Got drenched on an east coast trip during a week long deluge. The soaking shut the bike down and had to pull the alarm our of the bike to keep going. Make sure your connections are completely water tight.

Enjoy the bike...

So update on my purchases -I got some good deals on eBay for the Fork Bobbins and Rad Guard from R&G, I cringed at the price for the Ducati Paddock stand so looked on the forum and one of you guys recommended the one from Motea in Germany for just under £60 delivered.

Looks like I will have to shell out for R&G Frame sliders at £250 - ouch.

Tyres I have the stock Super Corsa's which worry me if caught out in the damp /wet - what do you guys run ?

Last question taking the rear cowl off to put the pillion seat on - How ? nothing in the manual or on You Tube. Is it the 3 screws either side to remove the blades ?

Welcome aboard......

Not much comes cheap for a high end bike. Hope you don't ever have to find out, but that £250 can save you a hell of a lot more in the long run. My R got knocked over and cost £6225 to be repaired.

The tyres aren't for the wet no. But if you get caught in the wet just don't do anything stupid such as sudden breaking or hard throttle, think a bit further ahead and ride according to the road conditions and you'll be fine. Standard stuff really.

Look underneath and there's a keyhole under the right hand side. Ignition key in, turn and pop. The centre cowl will slide out towards the front of the bike. The seat goes in the same but it does require a firm push towards the back of the bike. It makes an audible 'click' when it's in properly

Thanks Mutt,

Engine sliders - yes I agree I need to get them. Tyres OK I give then a try - just be sensible if I am out in those conditions.

Seat cowl - thanks again, so just slide the black plastic insert out, what about the side fins leave those on ?

Sorry, my bad. Yes, once the black plastic seat cowl is out. just look underneath the side fins as you've suggested, there are two allen screws each side. Just undo those and each 'fin' will come off allowing the seat to slide on :)

Reed,
Welcome to the forum. Take the time to read the manual all the way thru. Lots of good info in there especially about settings etc. Do your own check of fasteners too. Some come loose pretty easy.

Amen to that. If I were you, I'd pop to Halfords (other stores are around) and buy some thread lock and use it on the 4 mirror screws asap!
