The new 2023 BMW M1000R is based on the S1000RR, and is the second M model from BMW, after the M1000RR.

BMW claims engine output is 210 hp with a curb weight of 199 kg.

When I saw the bike announced, my first thought was this seems to be BMW's answer to the Ducati Streetfighter.

It definitely has the unmistakable BMW styling to it...

Comparing the new 2023 BMW M1000R with the 2022 Ducati Streetfighter V4:

The S1000RR engine is kinda dead below 7000, more track focused. The V4 does very well in a wide range of environments due to its beefy mid-range punch.

This is the 1st BMW that I think looks better visually than the equivalent Ducati…it looks better than the Streetfighter to me.

But I had a Streetfighter, very fun bike, built essentially for having a riot on the street reasonably comfortably. So for what it’s for, a comfortable riding street fun toy the Streetfighter is the better choice, it’s just more visceral and fun on the street, which is all a naked Superbike is made for.

They look good in the flesh but the Ducati has more presence, same with the Pani vs the RR. IMHO Porsche's look good but side by side with a similar Ferrari, Italian design wins the heart (if not the racetrack) every single time.

The 2023 BMW M1000R looks to be a promising addition to the BMW lineup, offering a power-packed motorcycle with distinctive BMW styling. With 210 horsepower and a light weight of 199 kg, it is set to rival other high-performance bikes in the market, including the Ducati Streetfighter.

I agree with your point of view I also think that it was the answer of the Ducati Streetfighter. But the BMW M1000RR was different. The best thing I love about its color combination. I must say it's a beautiful addition to the BMW’s lineup.

Them wings...they've grown on me on the SF. I don't care much for BMW's version, I'd still give the M1000R a shot.
