Howdy everyone. New to the site, and new to Ducati, or any Italian vehicle for that matter.
Recently picked up a V4S, about a week ago. It had been a while since I had ridden much of anything at all, except for a 49cc scooter I have at my office for quick jaunts through downtown traveling to client meetings and similar, or a couple of quick rides on a bike owned by someone generous enough to let me take it for a spin. I went back and forth between the Monster 1200R and the V4S. Maybe I can figure out a way to snatch up a 1200R next year without my wife killing me. Very different bikes, but in my opinion, equally amazing in their own right. In the end, I'm glad I went with the V4S, but there is some allure to how much easier the 1200R is to ride for more 'casual' jaunts.
When I was a bit younger, I raced a good bit of MRA and some WERA for a good number of years. Started on a 600cc Honda, then switched to Suzuki 600s and 1000s as time went on. I rode MRA under 818 or 81, depending on the year. WERA was a crapshoot for what number I got since I never did too many events with them in any given year.
I've also owned two sets of dirt bikes, the first a pair of CR250Rs, the next a pair of CRF450Rs. They were there just for fun and practice.
Enjoying being back in the saddle, and the bike itself immensely so far! Can't wait to get it to the track come spring time.
I'm a big gear head in General. I currently enjoy a Cummins Titan XD, and a 1-series BMW running a PTE6466 single turbo, on E85, with a bunch of other non-factory goodies on it. I also (unwisely) got myself hooked on the non-earthbound form of motoring, and can be found flying my vintage Beechcraft Bonanza around from time to time.
By day, I work in the tech field. I have a couple of engineering degrees under my belt, and have a 1 year old daughter.
Well, enough about me. Glad to be here, and looking forward to some good bike talk with all of you.
My new ride, stock (for now). But it looks just like the rest of them.
