New full Termi install impressions

Well this is why I couldn't justify the extra £4k just for a paint job, when that can be spent on extras... Like the full system, really don't know why people wait till its run in to put full system on?! After all makes it breath easier! I'm sorry but the standard sound is nothing compared to the full Termi system, the standard system is like a young choir boy singing who's voice hasn't broken yet, and the termi system is like a full blown male opra singer! Nice and deep. Needless to say I have had the full system on since the start of my bikes humble life, and there has been no flat spots, no hesitation, just pure blissssss.....

Sill waiting for my tri but I'm sure even the slipons will be better than the stock exhaust. I will think about getting the manifold later on. Will be to hear the stock then the slip ons then the full system.

Wondering of the sound difference between the slip on and the full system is worth the cost of the manifold.

Also do you get the carbon hear held when you buy the manifold? I assume that you do great a USB stick for the map upgrade.

Has anyone other than me experienced the stock exhaust being louder than the Termi Slip on???

My stock exhaust was way louder than a gent's Slip on. Did I get lucky and one of the Italian's forget to pack mine with sound deadening material? - LOL

(USA bikes)

Funny you should say that - I heard the same from others.. I rode a full system bike for 200kms and then I picked up mine this morning (stock) and remember thinking there didnt seem to be a lot of difference in noise.

Austin Racing did a db test that shows the difference (or lack thereof) between stock and Termis:

Standard bike at 5500rpm 0.5meter distance 45 degrees= 107-109 db
Same test with valve fully closed 105-106
Same test with Termi slip-ons with db killers 107db
Same test Termi slip-ons without killers 110-112

Yes, the carbon heat shield does come with it as well as the ECU mapping. The pipes are larger in diameter and the heat shield does stick further out on the right side FYI. Not enough to be bothersome but you enough that you can contact it with your thigh if you're not careful.

I agree with most of the observations from the OP, particularly the part about the throttle response. Regarding the sound, it's def a deeper sound and really nicer than the stock noise at high rpm's - 8k+. I think it's plenty loud already with the dB killers still in and loud enough to be restrictive at certain tracks here.

It doesn't matter much for my uses, but for those concerned about the already suspect gas mileage, I have a suspicion that the full system is making it a fair amount worse.

Another member here and I rode the other day. He had the S with stock exhaust and I have the Tri with slip ons. There was a clearly different sound all around between them. At idle, on the throttle, and also rolling off throttle.

There is alot to think over before dropping the cash on full system besides sound. Unless of course you have the loot just lying around. No brainer if so!

This past weekend he had the chance to install full manifold or slip ons, and he went with the slip ons only. I will let him speak for himself on his decision but needless to say his bike now "sounds" alot different!

ps. I like the data from Austin racing!

How difficult is it to remove and reinstall the dB killers? Do you have a pic of them?

They are small and are relatively easy to fit/remove, if you can elevate your bike - it isn't much fun if you can't. I'll try and take a pic of them tomorrow.

Sweet. Thanks for the update. I'll run it in with stock then get the slip ons at first service.

One more question dear sir.. I found that @ around 4500 with the stock there is a lost of note from exhaust (quieter than idle) is this corrected with full system.

Yes - The exhaust valve is removed with the full system, which is the source of the missing exhaust note.

The full system with "Key Up Map" provides much better throttle response and opens up the engine so it can breath.

This is a good thread to read up on exhaust and Ducati, if you really want to know more:

Totally agree with that ^; but the thread you mentioned is a dud with all the bitching that went on.

190km before the light came on, mixed city/highway riding.

Not sure I'm going to splash out between $1900 - $3600 to have the range lowered and risk getting a $500 fine everytime i take it out!!

I am with you on that, worrying about the 500 fine. But instead I am going to find a way to remove the Termigononi logo because I still want to have the exhaust only if they are using Sticker logo that would be much easier job.
