I'm a new Ducati owner and new to the forum. In April, my amazing husband bought me a 2014 899 Panigale... LOVE it!! I got it just in time to take it to MotoGP at Circuit of the Americas in Austin. While there, we got to park at Ducati Island, ride in the Ducati parade lap on the track, and take part in the Ducati Red Storm Ride. Fun times!!

Prior to the 899, I had a Honda CBR600RR. Though it was a great bike, I didn't have the same riding experience on it as I've had on the 899. For me, riding a Ducati is exhilarating... riding a Honda was not.

I'm thrilled to be a member of the Ducati family and a part of this forum. I know I'll gain much insight from your personal experiences and words of wisdom. And hopefully, I'll get the opportunity to meet some of you for a ride some day.

Welcome! You'll find a treasure trove of useful info here - and the people aren't so bad either :)

If you ever find yourself in the NYC-metro area with two wheels I'll gladly show you where us urbanites find sanity (in the valleys of Westchester and above)

Don't listen to Jello, the people here suck.

Definitely a lot of great info though, so that offsets the atmosphere. Congrats and enjoy your lovely bike!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Have you got any modifications or accessories planned for your bike?

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new 899! Am I correct to assume it is your husband's R that is pictured as well? If so, congrats on the nice pair of Ducks.

My wife and I also went to MotoGP at COTA this year and had a terrific time. It seems Ducati makes a very obvious effort to treat their fans and owners at these events.

You are correct that is my R. We had a great time given it was our first Ducati experience together and at the track for a race. Definitely worth the effort to make it down there. When we decided to go I knew I couldn't have her park somewhere else on the CBR so I had to find a better solution...and what do you know a white 899 just happen to show up at AMS Ducati a couple of weeks a head of the race. Couldn't help myself.

Congrats babe! Glad you enjoy it as I know you were skeptical that it would be much different of an experience from the Honda.

Only minor modifications so far. I had it lowered 1-1.5 in; switched the stock seat out for the R seat; added the stomp grip; replaced the passenger seat with the painted cowl and removed the passenger pegs.

In the immediate future, plan to get pro grip 717s; new foot pegs; a tail tidy of some sort - still undecided on which.

Thanks NOLA! I'm enjoying the heat. Had the charcoal canister removed before I picked it up from the dealership.
