Hi guys,

I have my deposit down on the S version, which I get in early April....hopefully.
This my first Duc so looking forward to joining the family.
I had a S1000rr before this which I have just sold and a RSV4 before that, so looking forward to see how the 1199 performs.

Welcome!

I'm sure you will absolutely love you new Duc!

Good news for you is that the 1199 just posted it's wet weight without fuel and is a full 42 lbs or 19kg lighter than your old S1000RR (wet without fuel) with more hp and more torque!!

Goal posts we expect to shift with every new bike.

That is however just plane ridiculous. Bravo Ducati:D

More torque yes, more hp maybe, we will see, 848 evo and Diavel came up abit short on the dyno, the 1199 might be the same...

I'm keeping my S1000RR so we shall see if the 1199 makes more power, i doubt it will but if it gets near the Beemer then its doing well. My S1000RR makes 200.34bhp at the rear wheel, obviously its got exhaust, filter and map mods but i will be doing that to the Tricoloure with the manifolds and up map. Once run in i will take it to the same dyno and get the maps overlaid. If the 1199 makes 190 at the rear wheel i will be mightily impressed as thats a high figure for a v-twin and it will be making that power 3000rpm further down the rev range.
