i take it your getting the tricolore? what model is it?

what's the model of your helmet?

arai corsair v?

This is how they describe it:

This is the pinnacle of the ARAI helmet range - the RX-7 RR5 Tricolore 12, designed by Aldo Drudi and painted in well know colors of the Italian flag. Compared to the normal glass fiber shells the RX-7 RR5 laminate fiberglass belted SNC shell (a belt laid peripherally on top of the eye-opening of the shell, increasing its rigidity) is 40% more rigid, the interior dry-cool linning is completely removable and washable while the wider wind screen is anti-fog and scratch resistant.

I believe it's pretty much the same as a Corsair V.
Isn't RX-7, the equivalent (or very similar) for Corsair V in Europe...?

RX-7 is the old model.

The Corsair-V replaced it. I actually emailed Ducati NA's online store to ask if it was a typo as they had a different one listed as an RX-7 but it was in fact the Corsair-V.

Well, this thing is not even manufactured yet. (ESD End of May as per Commonwealth motorcycle)
So, I doubt Arai will build it as per old specs.
I'm pretty sure it'll end up as a Corsair V Ducati re-badge.
And to be honnest, I bought it more for the look...!

Yeah, I think the description is just wrong. It'll be a Corsair-V.

This is the pinnacle of the ARAI helmet range – the RX-7 RC, at least in germany.
And as i was ordering some carbon stuff for the bike (which should arrive any moment!!!!)
the helmet was a nice extra.

but pricy!

...the duc too

whatever

The ARAI Corsair-V carbon IS the coolest lid on earth....
But WAY too much money for me..., so I settled for the Duc...
I did participate in the Revzilla contest to win one though...

but check the schubert sr1 also. this helmet fits much better for me, is lighter and very quiet. (and a lot cheeper)
maybe i will change my mind during the 2012 season but i dont think so.
first the weather has to get much better in germany and the panigale has to arrive. the s1000rr is already prepeared for my dealer and the big exchange!:D

Open face helmets

Ive always liked this helmet...only thing to not like is the damn visor is definitely not a quick release affair. Best thing about it, lightest helmet you can buy, it really is amazing after wearing a Shoei RF-1000 for like 4 years.

AGV Helmets: Pista Gp

My next helmet wil be the AGV PistGP or some variant thats released to the public. And yes i will shell out the extra dough for CF, the Nexx has proven to me how much a light helmet can make riding so much more enjoyable not to mention comfortable.

@ Karll Do you have a schubert SR1?? What do you think of it? A friend of mine just got one, he likes it and I'm currently leaning heavily to getting one aswell.

Also considering the new S2, from Schubert. Both seem very light and quiet.

Schuberth SR1

tonymsg

Just received my Black SR1 yesterday!!! Great Helmet.. Lightweight, great vision, and little to no air noise.... I would strongly recommend this helmet..

yes, i have a schuberth sr1, schuberth c3, bmw system6 (which is in fact build by schubert for bmw),a shark, diesel hi-jack, and a brandnew arai rx-7 RC

so i ´m trying to find the best helmet for me in every situation (cruising, racing and my piaggio 300i scooter)

the sr1 is my numero uno racehelmet! but it is not easy to put on. if its the perfect size for you it is very tight at the underpart. that is one reason its so quiet. but then you feel as there is no helmet--so lightweight without any pressure and stable at very high speed.
i have 3 helmet visors (tinted and darkly tinted) also.
everybody tells me that arai is very good-- thats why i test the rx-7 this season.

I really hate it when they announce a product at the start of the season (Pista-GP) but you can't actually buy it until most likely the end of the season. PR fail....should have launched in October and on shelves in January.

I heard it won't be available for the mass before 2013...

I'll use my old RF-1000 until i can get the PistaGP, my Nexx is orange to match my Repsol and that would look a bit odd on an all red bike.

Interested to hear anyone's opinions on the Schubert S2 which was just released. I'm normally an Arai guy as I've always used them for the track (in cars) and find the comfort better along with ventilation. I tried the Schubert on last week and it was very comfortable and has the added bonus of a flip down interior sun visor. My main reservation was on ventilation though. The front vent in particular opens less than half that of the Arai (not a bad idea on some fly filled mornings). Anyway Schubert claim they use a special cooling system which actually improves overall ventilation. Anyone out there with real world experience of them?
