Hi All,

I live in Tacoma, WA and just wanted to say hello. After months of reading everything I could including info from this and other forums, this and that shootout (a little useless), more reviews than I can remember, I pulled the trigger on a '12 1199S w/ ABS on Saturday. I waxed and waned between this bike and the BMW HP4. I even had a deposit down onthe BMW, but it purely came down to the fact that I've always wanted a Ducati and this is my first one. The HP4 will be a great bike, I'm sure. I know about all the recalls, reliability complaints, heat issues, et al... I don't ride like Troy Corser, Troy Bayliss or Valentino Rossi for that matter and I didn't need a liter-bike, let alone a Panigale, but, I just wanted one and specifically a Ducati. It finally came down to knowing that if I passed a Panigale on my HP4 I would have regretted not getting one. So, I'm finally at peace with my decision and can't wait to pick it up tomorrow. I'm getting the full-Termi system, getting rid of that tree trunk that hangs off the tail and Rizoma rear sets. Hopefully, the weather cooperates.

A little about me, I've been riding on and off since about 10 years old, mostly dirt bikes. I had a 2002 Yamaha Road Star Warrior then sold it for a 2003 Black edition R1. I had that bike about a day before it was stolen, then picked up a 2003 Silver R1 and rode it 4 years around SoCal. I sold it before I moved up here to the PNW. Last year, I got a '12 HD FLSTF and really like it, but it's a very specific kind of ride. I missed my R1 and that style of riding, hence my quest for a new sport bike.

Looking forward to being part of the community.

Congrats on the new Duc and welcome to the forum. Like you the Ducati was my dream bike also and once the Panigale came out that was it for me. I had to have it and don't regret buying since I originally saw it. Now after having time to ride and enjoy the Pani I couldn't imagine ever going to another bike or manufacturer.

Welcome and congrats, once the spring rolls around again it would be cool to do a Washington meet up of panigale owners, maybe a possible ride. Again congrats on getting an amazing machine, and welcome to the club.

I appreciate the welcome. That's sounds great, looking forward to meeting up sometime.

Grats and welcome! Shoulda bought my Tri, already kitted up :) :)

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome. I seriously thought about the Tri, but although I'm Italian and like the flag, I liked the red better.

That's great to hear that you have no regrets, I really don't think I will either. Thanks for the welcome.

Count me in for the meet up and ride!

We should plan something for the spring far enough in advance for everyone to set it and since the pass is snowing already makes it tricky for me to get over, maybe do a at Helen's or Rainer ride?

St. Helens or around Rainier would be great. I've had her 10 days now and just turned 100 mi, so hopefully I'll at least have the 600 service by then. It's agonizing trying to ride here and there between the storms. But, stoked about skiing!

Flobrandx and Kevin,

I was thinking of doing the cal superbike school at The Ridge next summer, are either of you thinking of doing that? Flo, where do you track your bike?

Superbike school would be cool! What's the school cost and schedule?

I did a track day with Motocorsa at Portland International Raceway (PIR).

Last I looked at doin the school, which I would live to do, the person who I called told me that they only would let you use their bikes and they had a huge deposit on them. It didn't seem like they were very knowledgeable but still, I think that could be a blast. But ya a Rainer or st Helen's ride would be a blast, if we do it in the spring I might be able to get a few others in on it. Now just to get my bike over for the new up map and some other goodies :)

Here's the link CSS

July 16 you can either ride your own bike ($475) or rent theirs ($675). July 17 & 18 is a the 2-day school and you have to ride their s1krr ($2450). I don't what the deposit is though.

Let's definitely keep in touch.

Hey guys, I live in Alberta right now but we are moving to southern bc next month or so. Would love to meet up with a bunch of Ducati guys to go for ride. So keep me in the loop!

Alberta is beautiful, had a great time hiking around Lake Louise. Where are you moving to in BC? Will have to figure out where the twisty roads are north of Seattle, otherwise St Helens area would be a serious hike for you.

We should start a thread in the Regional forum to get a sense of how many riders in the area when we start planning for spring.

Sounds great! The more people the mo' betta the ride! I'm also looking into riding to the Laguna SECA Moto GP race with a few other local guys.

Getting a regional thread is a great idea to see how many of us are around here.

That would be pretty cool to see.

I asked admin if they could put a PNW location in the regional forum since we get lost amongst all the posts from Cali. Will wee what happens, otherwise I'll post something there.

GP is a blast at Laguna and I believe that Superbike will be there in September I believe. But once spring rolls around a group ride would be a blast, could even go more north for the BC guys
