I'm getting all excited because my Ohllins are on route, and I finally lose the Marzocchi pain.
Those who have changed because I only have a tape measure and verniers, any advice for setting the height position of the forks, will measure the center point on the axle to the triple clamp is I guess the best way not to mess up the ride height, I guess, also coming is a new 80nm spring as the TTX I bought was fitted with a 90Nm, thanks for the advice on this and the forks guys before for I ordered, big help when parting with such cash!

Ohlins v Marzocchi weight

Don't know if anyone did this before, 1/2 kg between them both!

non DES Ohlins.

This bike is still under warranty but give up on the dealers and Ducati to fix it!
The difference between the forks is night and day, there is no rebound adjustment on the Marzocchi, 4th set for this bike they were supposedly to have come from the Marzocchi factory and bench tested, A bike like this should not have been fitted with such crap, but the best solution is the cartridges saving 0.5kg weight, but the bike looks the dogs bollocks now with these on.

Very smart of you to go with the entire forks! Got the cartridges to save a few $ but will end up giving them away, the forks will stay with you when you sell the bike.

I too gave up after two sets of marzocchis. They may be good quality forks when they work but man...they break easy and therefore are junk!

Ohlins GOLD!

I have not finished with Ducati, they are going to be sent to them because they deny that they don't work and I have Showa's and now these and both show that the Marzochhi do not have any rebound adjustment or damping, basically they insult my intelligence, and with them its like you argue with an idiot and they drag you down to their level, that .... I wouldn't find on a Chinese scooter!

Those Marzocchis are crap all the way around. The coating is cool looking (DLC) but that is it. Heck the Showas on the 848 base are better than those POS forks.

Good work getting the right stuff! Cheers!

Hard one for you IF you cant get them in OZ, USA has the better prices normally but the US dollar is stronger now, I bought mine from WRS.sm they were 2,400 eur they seem to have the best prices in Europe even thought they are not in the EU they supply from the EU, anyway no matter the cost for that bike its a must buy thing.
BUT I just bought a MUPO shock AB1 EVO for my 749 and I reckon if I was buying again for my 1199 I think the MUPO forks look the dogs bollocks and are quality, interested in opinions on this from others!

I run Mupo inserts on my base 1299 forks they work better than my Ohlins forks I was using on my 1199R with a cartridge kit fitted .

Just a word of caution if I may.. If you get the Nix30 Ohlins Cartridges make sure the installer gives you the accurate springs and valving for not only your weight but your riding style.. I am at the impasse as we speak and being a very late and very hard braker at 170lbs I am bottoming out the Nix30 with springs and valves for my weight.

Willson, where did you get the MUPO gear from? My 2nd set of marzocchi's have developed a seal leak.....the 1st set did the same before turning into pogo sticks. Damn pity really, there great forks....just very unreliable.

If anyone is interested in MUPO kit I bought from MUPO because where I am there is no dealer, I guess there would be no price difference but for those outside of the EU there would be no EU VAT to pay on a purchase, I made contact with their export department at Ecima this year, email [email protected]
