I recently purchased an 1199S. I traded in a Diavel Carbon Red for the Panigale. This is my 3rd Ducati. I owned an 1198 Base prior to the Diavel. I have also owned ZX-10R's, a BMW S1000RR, ZX-12R's, and an RC-51. So far I have put about 200 miles on the Panigale. I am 6'1" and this bike is the most comfortable sport bike besides my ZX-12R. The heat from the exhaust is noticeable, but not too bad. I did line the bottom of my DP Race seat with heat reflective tape.

Welcome to the forum! So, does the reflective tape result in any noticeable difference?

Beautiful bike, and congratulations.

wait until it is 100 degrees in Houston, you'll notice the heat for sure ! but..... ultimately, its still worth it when your riding it.

enjoy, be safe, and Happy New Year

The combination of the race seat and reflective tape feels better than the stock seat w/o the tape in terms of heat. The increased thickness of the race seat may play a part in the improvement.

Thanks for all of the welcomes. The Houston summers are brutal, no matter what bike you are riding. Once I get some more miles on the Panigale, I will be able to do a better comparison with the BMW. The Panigale is more comfortable though.

Howdy, and welcome!. I am from Htown as well. nice bike and good idea with the tape. It is worth trying if helps. I know how hot it will be so any little bit will help. :)
