Congrats!!! Sounds like you R enjoying your bike!

It's a beautiful beast waiting to be tamed by the right person!

congratulations RSR on your new machine

I am green with envy.

enjoy :)

My R is being prepped as I'm posting. The Termis, odds and ends from my S are being installed. Can't wait!

btw... Mine didn't come with the left side(generator) CF protector... Only the right. I thought it was supposed to. How about you guys?

Only on the right.

Did anyone notice how the factory is dealing with the melting fairings from the termis? I took a look and they've done two things:

1: banged in the outer pipe radius at the spot closest to the plastic with a hammer of sorts to flatten it out.
2: new mounting site for rear fairing bolt and a larger rubber grommet at the place closest to the pipe as well.

Congrats dude!

When you decide to get a RS13 let me know and I'll buy your R. :)

That might be a while! ...at least a few months :D

From a very reliable source, I am informed that there will be more versions of the Panigale to follow

Aren't these bikes hand-assembled in Ducati's Corse division? So, I think they would take offense at your use of the word banged... The carefully adjusted the outer pipe radius!:D

Yes! I stand corrected:) perhaps in order to not offend the Ducati Godz; please allow me to rephrase point #1: the outer radius of the terminal turn at the end of the starboard exhaust header was gently massaged by trained factory technicians into a new contour consisting of a more planar configuration at the section most likely to contact the outer plastic fairing. Thus, hopefully minimizing the potential thermal effects on said plastic enclosure.

Are you a politician??

RSR - also watch out that the new heat shield has a new attachment point (holes by the rear brake bracket). If you switch out to rear sets, that rubber/plastic additional attachment may or may not fit with a different rear set. I believe mine is now free hanging as it doesn't fit with mine.

Holy crap that header pipe looks thick in the second pic! Daaamn.

ddd269: Thx for sharing the pictures. I had mine delivered a few weeks back, but did not have time to go to the dealer to get pics of the prep. Great pics by the way. :)

Thank you! I just stopped by to see what the progress was on my bike and found her totally naked like that. I didn't even get to see my S like that. I'm so psyched about the R.

I just realized that I was thread jacking. Didn't mean to takeaway anything from the OP.

Will post more pictures in a new thread.

Peace! ^^

i don't think the protector was meant for both sides... grtz
