just got to 1500 miles all road riding
rear tyre now on the bones what u guys fitting super corsas ?
what sort of mileage everybody else getting
 
I'm at 3200, rear is starting to plateau a bit, have Michelin CUP/One's waiting in my garage.

which compound did you go with for the cup tire? a hard one? is the C compound the hard compound?

cool, found the c compound on ebay for 169 shipped. not bad. you'll have to let us know how they work with the DTC.

edit just saw the link for the 3-tire combo price, decent, $500 for 3.

I used the V(B) One 120/70/17 and a 190/55/17 C on my CBR1000RR on the track and street and these things are awe inspiring.
 
I'm going with the michelins next too.. I've never really been a fan of the supercorsas and the new Michelin cup tires look nice!
 
That's what's up....hopefully that Michelin tire won't interfere with all the electronics etc. like Ducati has said they will....personally Michelin in my opinion cant compare wit Pirellis in traction....but they do last longer....my opinion tho...don't want to start a Michelin vs Pirelli thread....good luck with ur new tire
 
I've heard two people mention that, I can't see how if I don't mess with the rim etc. It may give it a different feel, they may be a different size by MM's. I'm going to go with that issue is like the break-in the manual recommends; nonsense. These are DOT race tires and people are raving about the new CUP front.

Anybody any thoughts on this? I can't see how it would make a GREAT deal of difference but just read a article in Cycle World where all the liter bike manufacturers supplied a set-up technician so they could get the best out of the bikes and put every bike on a control tire (Dunlop 211's) but Ducati flat refused to allow them to change the SC's saying "the exact tire profile is important for the anti-slip system".
Is it really an issue that an average rider is going to notice??? A marketing ploy to keep Pirelli's on the bike or only important if youre running national times around the track? I tend to think an average Joe like me isn't going to notice a difference but I'd hate to end up in a ditch cos a changed tire make!! Txs.

I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with an agreement with Pirelli for being an OE provider. Hate the SCs, I'll take my chances. Notice how EVERY other bike let them? Some of them have TC, whoopty doo, no issues reported. The TC disks are the same as every other manufacturer AND if it was going to affect the TC, it would on the ABS too. Doubtful...

ABS is supposed to detect a lock up and works accordingly...how is it going to know which tire is on there, same I think would go for the DTC, it feels a slip and kicks on. The exact point at which the tire slips will probobly be different depending on specific brands and makes.

As for Ducati insisting their bikes run the Pirelli...I would assume that they really want to push the brand- after all Pirelli developed an entire tire just for this bike.
 
ABS won't be affected. They claim traction control has a "profile" for the pirelli. I doubt the Michelin's will be affected that much but I imagine running race slicks might since the tire size is significantly different. ..

personally I like the SC or SC1's (track tires), so I'm good with pirelli.

By that logic, based on the tire wear it would affect the TC even with Pirelli's. That's where I start to think that makes no sense.
