Looking at purchasing a Panigale soon so I'm just looking for info on this forum. The other bike I'm seriously consider is the Diavel since it fits my riding style more. I like the look and nimbleness of Pani, but we'll see how it turns out.

Anyone here has had or owned both a Panigale and Diavel. Any comparisons will be appreciate it!

Thanks,
Sam

Welcome...

I have had both....No comparison in my opinion..Panigale is more powerful ..more comfortable...better fueling.. and a much easier, more pleasant riding experience...:)

Thanks, Stw!

So, in your opinion, you would recommend a Panigale over the Diavel.

I've not owned a sportsbike before which only had HDs. Now, I am thinking to add one more bike to my garage. I like all sorts of bikes from old to new and I do not have brand loyalty. I want to expand my riding experience and skills. I really like the 1199S, bec of the single sided swingarm, full LED headlight, and color display. However, I know I'll never use the power it has nor do I have the skill to handle it. I'll never go to track and it's only going to be on streets. I'm about 5'8 and 165 pounds and my riding style is more cruising. So, would you still recommend the Panigale over the Diavel? If so, would you say a Panigale 899, 1199s or 1299 base if money is no object?

Thanks,
Sam

Definitely..... Panigale FTW I like the 1199S ... or perhaps 1299S if money is no object ;)

I am going to look for a 1199S since I can save a couple Ks and figure out a way to smooth out the power band. Thanks, Steve!

Hi members,

I have 2 scenarios that I'm facing that I desperately need your help.

So, here we go.

Scenario #1 is buy a new 2014 Ducati 1199 base for $17K OTD including taxes and title.
Scenario #2 is buy a used 2012 or 3 Ducati 1199 S for $17K (including taxes and title?).

Say I go with #1 then I still need to do the following mods ($8K?).

1199 Full LED headlight
OZ Magnesium Wheels
Ohlins (maybe)
Rearset
Termi slip on exhaust
Misc CF bits and etc

Or I go with #2 then I'll only do the following mods ($4K?).

Buy extended warranty
Rearset
Termi slip on exhaust
Misc CF bits and etc

Please give me your opinion and state what would you do if it's your money.

I appreciate everyone's comments!

Thanks,
Sam

That's a decision YOU need to make. These aren't opinions you're asking for based on a performance/end result perspective. It's simply a matter of personal taste and preference. Choose what works for you financially and whether this is for pleasure or if you intend on doing any sort of racing/track. You can look at my sig n see my mods. I only ride it like a pussy and not aggressive but I still modded the .... out of my bike. Why? Cuz i enjoy the process. End result is not as rewarding.

Thanks double0! I understand it is a decision I need to make. I intend to use it only on the streets and probably would never go to a track day. I believe the costs of going to either is going to be very very close with maybe $1-2K apart. I'm currently leaning toward #1 just knowing it's a brand new bike and no one has abused it. Also, it comes with a 2 yrs factory warranty. I know I'll always mod it but I can take my time to enjoy the process. I appreciate your comment.

For what its worth, I got my bike quite a bit cheaper than what you're looking at from a private seller who took AMAZING care of it. There were 837 miles on it when I drove away. All paperwork was in order. I still have a year left on an aftermarket warranty. Also the previous owner installed a full termignoni exhaust system.

I took my time, did lots of research and reading, and waited for the right deal to pop up.

With the 1299's taking over the market people are going to be selling their bikes for cheaper and cheaper as we near winter, especially dealers.

Don't rush.

Thanks, Shayne! I'll keep my eyes out for a good deal and not rush into it. I'm a impulse buyer when I come to things I like.
