Hey Gent's,

I'm going to need a new set of tires in about 1000 miles (sooner if I have fun hehehe) but wanted to know everyone's feedback. It's too soon to know BUT since they've updated the new Pirelli tire for the V4 and it'd probably be a good idea to wait for the new tire? Any thoughts?

V4 - 200/60 ZR17 REAR

1199S - 200/55 ZR17 REAR

Any thoughts? Figured I'd open up the discussion to see what the experts on here think. I know the newer Panigale's have a learn feature but for us older chaps not sure how this will effect the 2012's traction control system etc.

Thanks gents (and sexy ladies) & cheers

On a 2012 Panigale, stick with the 200/55 profile so your electronics work correctly, the benefits of the 200/60 profile would be minimal for street use anyway.

There is a bit of work getting it to work properly with the electronics, at least on the IMU equipped bikes. But it is possible, and I've decided to go for it when the full Supercorsa SC lineup comes on the market...

Not only the electronics. I wonder if the rear hugger / front mudguard would scrape the new tire with the 10mm additional height... 10mm is quite a bit.

I run 200/60 superbike tires at the track with no rubbing issues it's just that you won't possibly need the extra profile to justify the added cost on the street. I'm sure they will be more money.
