So Sunday, fellow forum member Scorpio and I did a nice run up to Tellico Plains, TN and back.
Dahlonega over Blood Mtn (mandatory when you're in N.GA.), Owltown Rd over to 60/68 and up through Copper Hill, Ducktown and into Tellico Plains.
Gorgeous day for a ride. Not too hot, not too humid. Holiday Traffic was annoying. More cars on the road than usual made for it being frustrating at times (yeah, not many passing lanes on 68). Still, was a great ride. About 300 miles by the time we got back to Atlanta suburbs.
No speeding tickets (always something to celebrate). In fact, except for the officer attending a wreck at the bottom of Blood Mtn (overturned Truck/SUV/Something in a ditch), we didn't see any.
Good company. Good roads. Good weather. Can't ask for better.

Plans made to do another ride in a few weeks. Anyone else in Atlanta area feel free to drop us a note and come along....

Inspiring pictures Charlie. I learned how to ride a sport bike in those mountains when I was in college in ATL back in '89.

I'm planning a trip with 2 buddies who have never been (going to blow their minds), one of which just got a Pani. We'll be there August 19-23 and staying in Franklin, NC. Going to do a south run at least once to do Blood Mtn, Richard Russel, et al. Hope to see you and Scorpio!

Nice pics Charlie!

I love the roads in that area. Blood Mountain is way too much fun!

Very good riding yesterday, Traffic was not that good but we managed to have some fun in very twisty road. Charlie is a very good company and he knows every road up in North GA.

I made 700 miles in 2 days with a screw in the front tire but fortunately i found out about this when I got home last night, the pressure dropped just a bit. I'm gonna replace both tires today with Q3 since next WE I'll be both days at Barber.

Here some pics of our fellow Charlie with the Pani's,

P.s. We need a larger pani group and go riding up to N. GA together sometimes ;-)

World-class twisties in N.GA/Western NC. It's why I've lived here since late 60s and refuse to move elsewhere.

NC is kind of a big place. You have a link to your event? :)

If you're the event organizer and you're going to be on a Pani (and not a Multi), then I won't feel quite so out of place showing up. Since it's my backyard, wouldn't be a problem showing up for a day or so. Post up a link.

A lot of Ducati centric rally stuff goes on in May in NC every year. Might want to make sure you don't conflict with others (Ducati.ms, US Desmo, etc.).

Missed you guys by a day; did an impromptu run over Cherohala to the Gap Saturday, since it was such a nice day out and the last few times I've been over that way I've gotten rained on. Seemed like some sort of moto-imperative... ;)

Would be good to get a bunch over sometime this Summer, maybe when Jeff and his crew are up.

Was a gorgeous day; almost chilly up on the Skyway. And soooo nice to finally see some dry roads up there for a change...
