Simple but very useful mod to the standard crap gear lever set up.
Bush removed and a needle bearing pressed into the lightly milled receiver in the hanger. The lever shaft sleeved to fit the bearing
Feels tight smooth and high quality. No play unlike the sloppy standard set up.

Cost is all that prevents them from doing this as stock. The standard tolerances on these bushes is sloppy at best. Way too much radial play. I don't really notice it as I changed to after market rear sets when I first got the bike, but this is a very nice and worthwhile mod.

Good thinking and nice solution!
One of the reasons I never bought the super overpriced Ducati Performance rearsets. No needle bearings. On the Ducati Corse rearsets, the have it. But for their price I can buy another bike :)

I love your mod.
Could you tell me what kind of bearing did you exactly use for this mod ( if it is possible to describe it better) and where I can get it?
My mechanic will do the mod but needs some more details.
Thanks in advance.

You can also get the Ceramic needle bearings version which will be the best.

It's a needle bearing
External diameter is 17.5mm
Width 20mm and internal dimension 12 mm

The shaft was sleeved to fit the internal diameter.
I will post the bearing code when I find the invoice.
Thanks. J

Can I buy it somewhere or need to fabricate it myself?

There is a lot of places on the web but you need the part number, the ID and OD from the bearing he used.

Many thanks.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I know but that's all what I get...might ask my dealer how he managed to read from the picture but can't promise anything

Sorry about the number. Invoice doesn't show the number and the shaft was sleeved to fit the bearing.
It was ordered on dimension required and not a number. The number on it is illegible
