Ohlins Titanium Spring??

I need a little softer spring for the rear TTX on the R. I would like to get the Ohlins Titanium spring off the Superleggera as that should be right in the middle for adjustment based on my weight. I have the stock spring adjusted out all the way and only get 27mm combined static/full gear sag in the rear.

Does anyone have a part number or price for the spring yet??

Thanks!

The Ducati parts diagram does not list a part number for just the spring, it only has the entire shock absorber listed, which is bargain-basement priced at only $3818.36!

Jarel... does this mean you have a parts price list for all SL parts???

Yes sir, it's in our DCS system now, however many of the part numbers are not available to order, so you can't actually get any of this stuff yet. It's entertaining to look through though and gasp at how much everything costs, I think if you'd build the bike from parts it's a $200k machine!

No doubt...... I am wondering if the Flywheel is the same as the R??

I figured the coil should be softer rate due to the lighter bike. Would give me a little adjustability to play with sag. I want to maintain the electronics so I just need the coil spring.

Anyone know of a good Ohlins Tech/Dealer to order a spring from?

Ohlins offers many options without needing to go titanium..(as I am sure you know). It appears the spring would be an insane price even if available separately....

JarelJ's shop, Ducati Omaha, are certified Ohlins retailers/technicians. You should throw them a bone for all the great info he provided in your thread. I'm sure they'll be competitive with any other Ohlins dealer, but do you think any of them knows a Panigale S suspension setup than someone who's raced them personally?

I don't believe Ohlins makes titanium springs. Renton Coil Springs in Washington manufactures them, and you can get one of those from Lindemann Engineering in California. I had one many years ago on a Penske shock on my SV650 race bike, if I recall it was around $300, so not too terrible. I still remember Jim Lindemann laughing on the phone when I told him I wanted a Ti spring for my SV650! ;)

Ohlins had a bunch of press releases about the availability of titanium springs a couple years ago. My local suspension shop said they were supposedly tricky to set up, and I have yet to see one in action.

Edit: Now that I think about it, they could have simply been advertising that they were putting Ti springs on Ohlins shocks. I can ask them in the morning.

I read on the net that they do t perform as well as steal springs. The price is not back considering the amount of Ti, but no one uses them.

I called a few places that can get the spring and all of them said they have stopped selling it only special order. As they look cool and weigh less but function is not there and many people stopped buying them.
