Oil around head bolt and what the heck is this?

Washed my Panigale and while cleaning the chain I noticed oil around what I believe are the head bolts, see attached photos. Never noticed it before and does not appear to be getting worse. The bike has 3000 miles.

Is this indicative a problem or is it a normal "Ducati thing"?

The middle photo (sorry for the poor quality) was taken from the right side through the lower fairing hole. Between the exhaust on the lower and the valve cover above is a silver cube with what looks like a hole rubbed into one corner. What the heck is this and, again, is it a problem or something not to be worried about. I can't figure out how anything could get in there to rub and there doesn't seem to be any moving parts that could have caused it.

thanks.

The hole is normal so nothing to worry about there. With the oil, I would just clean everything up really good (Simple Green, whatever) and then monitor it for signs of coming back. If it does, then you may have an issue, but you should be able to trace it to the source since everything will be cleaned up and the trail should be relatively easy to follow.

Will clean it up and see what happens. What is the box, though? Just curious.

Its a Ducati thing....Bring it to the dealer if it still leaks or sweating persist...yes...its really a Ducati thing...

It's on all DUCATI Head Stud Fasteners from factory.
I assume it's assembly lube to assist with achieving the correct head stud torque.
It looks like it's only given a little bit of a clean up before the engine moves down the production line.
The remaining amount is left there for a visual confirmation that the Head Stud has been lubed and torqued to correct specs.
It's a QC thing;)

Cheers
