Ive ordered the new R
Here in australia my dealer done me a deal, so it worked out only $3k more than the Tri
And for the full exhaust, plus ainternals, seat, screen i think its a bargain
And i sold my tri to a mate ,
So i cant wait

Congrats - not too long to wait for such a wonderful machine.

Difference in Europe between the Tri and R is 2800 Euro's.

Its tempting to say that its good value for what you get, compared to a Tri. However, for a far comparison you gotta compare to an S, which is almost 7000 Euro cheaper.

So, for 7k, you get full exhaust, cons, seat and a screen ..... even my man logic would struggle with that being a bargain, not that it has to though

Actually, thinking about it, its a very smart move by Ducati - they will probably sell more R's by keeping the Tri in the range, for this very reason.

They way i figured it out,
Its around $36,500k for the S, the termis are around $3,500 give or take
No matter how many times i try and convince myself i,ll keep her stock, u always end up going the termi,s so basically theres $40k
Tri is around $42,500
The internals and extra,s gotta be worth that, and with the lightenec flywheel there will always be a slight difference, plus there saying 15% better midrange , u gotta be happy with that
So the exra $3k i get the bike delivered with the full race system all set up ready to go
And resale should be better because ur not handing out coin for extra,s ( which u never get back)
If it has pillion pegs, thats always a bonus on resale, every SPS or R ive owned before i had trouble selling, because the sooks always complained it didnt have pegs for the missus so she wont let me buy it bullshi
I felt like saying, , go by some concrete princess and harden the F&%k up , ditch the missus for one that douesnt whinge, or go by a goldwing
And basically "I JUST WANT ONE "

I paid $45,700 exactly and thats with everything fitted, exhaust, custom plates 1199 ( i ordered them 9 months ago when i heard about the new model i knew then id end up with one, lol

Difference indeed is 8000 Euro with the S. My dealer did me a deal so I have an R for the price of a Tri.
