hello guys, just simple question...Panigale 1299 vs Panigale 899, which one is louder? Or do they sound the same? thank you

With standard exhaust, my experience is that 899 makes the most noise, probably due to higher revs.

Did anyone test it,is the difference obvious when you hear them somewhere on the road?

On racetracks i north europe we have strict sound requirements.
899 always has bigger problems staying below the noise limit than 1199/1299.

That could be true, i have 899 but I don’t have 1299 so I can’t really compare, maybe 899 makes more Db but what i saw on YouTube 1299 got more roar and more massive sound, or my impression is wrong?

Alright dude, I got you A proper answer I have the 959 Panigale with full Akra exhaust and had the 1299s anniversario with the stock Aura slip Ons tbh in idle they where the same but when riding the 959 is louder and way more dramatic meaning more flames because of the full system, both bikes where tuned and flashed and had govenor deleted, both bikes will be same volume with same mods, both bikes are the same, and their loud af... but a louder bike is the Panigale V4/V4R those two bikes im assuming because things move faster in that motor and the two extra cylinders they Are wayyyy louder.

V4 is pretty loud. It’s super impressive at idle when it’s only firing on 2 cylinders then it goes back to firing on all 4.

I’m surprised the 959 shoots more flames than 1299, my 1299 is very spirited with flames so the 959 must be over the top

could be, i ve been at the mechanics yesterday with my 899, asked the mechanic if 1299 is louder than 899,he said "way louder" so, anyway ill pay attention next time i see 1299 or 1199, i live in Cairns in Australia, its a bit hard to see Panigales here :),
extra cylinders doesnt mean the bike must be louder,i had CBR1000RR which is 4 cylinder bike,899 is way louder than CBR

You can't be suggesting that this video and whatever microphone it happened to use is more precise than the methodology and equipment used by European authority?
Moreover, that's a Euro 3 1199.
Tone (deep gargle) and loudness (volume) are different things.
A Euro 3 bike is louder than a Euro 4 bike.
Consequently, and according to the European Environment Agency, the 899 is louder than the 1299.

... no way my 899 can produce this deep gargle, unless its up to exhaust system?

Cant figure it out which exhaust is fitted on this 1199 in the video

Of course all things being equal the exhaust system is what finally determines the sound

899 has smaller bore stroke and valves than a 1199 tho so take that into consideration

There are only two companies making cans that look like like that

He obviously removed the front covers and it looks like someone may have been inside those cans as well?

I think they are modded Termi’s

i believe that 899 is equaly loud as 1299 or even more, but what i want to say is that my impression is that 1199 and 1299 have more massive/bigger,different flavour sound than 899, for example you can hear some 250cc bikes who can be really loud in decibels, same as 1000cc nike, but their sound is tiny comparing to 1000cc bike.

Yeah you can tell the 959 a bit louder then my 1299, I feel like the tuning and the exhaust system on the 959 is dialed in and to the max, and so was the 1299s but it Was tuned more for power, making 210whp where I tuned the 959 to make a bit more power but to be more of a hoonigan & really dial in power curve and shifting, the 959 is a savage lol its holds its own for sure in the sound wars against other litter Bikes, but all in all the V4 with akra cans takes the W, and heres why... it has way less sound dampening material in the cans compared to the shotgun exhaust in the 959/1299... if you want an even loader exhaust for V2 Panigales try, Vandemon exhaust. Looks the same as Akra, though its way lighter and can make a bit more hp for ya. Recently developed exhaust by idk who, but who cares bikes sounds savage... oh and its way cheaper then Akra.
