Panigale as a bike for all seasons

I bought my Panigale with a similar intention in mind i.e. to use it for everything but to be honest I was totally wrong.

I have owned it for almost a year now and I have come to a conclusion that I cannot live with it on a daily basis hence I started looking at getting another bike.

Dont get me wrong, it is a great bike but it is a bit too exotic to be used on a daily basis. Obviously a lot of people on this forum do use it as their regular bikes but I have not been able to do so. Every one is different and make sure you do not make the same mistake I did, test ride it first and see if you can stand the bike for commuting.

Other than commuting, I still have issues with how the bike handles - the bike does not communicate similar to other bikes I have had in the past and the rear feels still weired. The bike does not feel planted while taking a corner at high speeds and all this have led me have less confidence in corners while on the Panigale. I am still playing with tyre pressures and suspension setup to get to a point where its confidence inspiring. Until then, I spend a lot more time on my ZX6R 636 which has turned out to be awesome so far in pretty much everything!

I stopped using it to go to and from work because traffic in Hi is like 5mph during rush hour (which is pretty much all day)

Reason for my question is, I'm only going to have the one bike for whatever rides. Unlike some, my wife will kick me out of the house if I keep 2 bikes. She said pick any bike but only one!
So, yes, I'm asking if it is possible to use it for an all rounder although I'm sure there are better options out there in terms of comfort, economy, etc. Reason I chose the 1199 is because I believe I can potter around town on it and yet open it up on highways and the twisties.

One of my bikes is a Kawasaki Ninja 1000 (modded to 140 rwhp). If I could only have one bike it would be a no-brainer that it would be the Ninja. I ride it 350 miles a day all the time, and probably could easily ride it 500 miles in a day - or more. And it's damn near as much fun as the Panigale on the street, and I'm not exaggerating.

If track days are part of your riding and if you are half my age, then a bike like the Panigale might make a fine single bike.

+1 on the posts on this page. If I could only have one bike the Pani would not be it. I love riding it, but it's too specialized for me to use it as an every day bike (position, heat, behavior in traffic, etc. etc.). It makes an excellent second bike though or a single bike for someone who only uses it for fun riding.

I've had it as my only bike and its been fine. I every swap out tires for winter that can handle wet and cold a bit better. I commute about 7 miles pretty low speed, so clearly not hitting it hard, and I still enjoy it. However, I did just purchase a scooter (that's right, don't judge me) as I was getting a bit tired of gearing up and changing for such a low speed ride, and getting edgy about some mindless drop in the rain or something. All being said, I bought the scooter last friday for the purpose of commuting. It's Thursday. This morning I had to ride the Pani again as I missed it. So not practical, but I absolutely wanted a supersport for the rocky mountains for weekends. And a scooter is totally different, and not having to change clothes. But I can't picture being on any other motorcycle to commute, at least would still want a supersport. I prefer the seating position and handling, even in urban commute downtown.

I couldn't imagine riding mine to work on a regular basis. Too much stop and go traffic. ane splitting not allowed either. Diavel or Multistrada better choice.
