Panigale R vs 1098r

I had a 2015 R and my buddy had a 1098R and we would switch off a good bit. The traction control is much more refined on the 1199r whereas the 1098r was more abrupt. Also the dash on the 1098r sucks in comparison, think 1988 Casio watch. Power wise they were very similar with the 1199r having a slight edge, but the 1098r's brakes were the best. Also, your not going to like finding and paying to replace the body work on the 1098r if you want to keep it original.
Thank you for the insight! Yeah the 1098r tech will be dated, I understand that. But it doesn't bother me too much. Which one did you like better from an engine/performance/feel standpoint? And good point about bodywork, but hopefully I won't be needing to find any.

I would say the 1098r prob had more bottom end whereas the 1199r was more up top. The redline on the 1199r allowed you to hold a gear longer though. Engine wise they weren't all that much different imo. His brake rotor options were also fairly limited due to the tc phonic ring set up. You'd be right with either choice, just relating what I remember before we both switched to V4R's.

Thank you so much again for the insight brother! How are you liking the V4R?
