Panigale Recalled on Canada Dealers

Transport Canada has issued a recall notice for the 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale due to an incorrect screw used in the rear suspension.

At this point, the recall is only in Canada and the U.S.’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not yet issued a similar recall, but considering Ducati North America operates in both countries, a U.S. recall is likely to follow in the next week.

According to Transport Canada, an incorrect screw may have been used to attach the swingarm to the rear suspension linkage. If the connection fails, the linkage may disconnect from the swingarm, potentially causing the 1199 to become unstable, creating a crash hazard.
The Canadian recall campaign affects 35 units of the 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale. Canadian Ducati dealers will inspect the affected models and, if necessary, replace the faulty screw.

We’ll have further details if and when a U.S. recall is announced.

+1 Just got mine today! Took me 3 hours for what is usually a 1 hour drive, change of pants (pissed myself out of sheer happiness) and back out! Celebratory beers later on tonite

My dealer told me Ducati finally approved the warranty claim (no ....) and is finally shipping my new suspecnsion linkage rod out. They are going to replace it with my next service next weekend.

Thank you.

My dealer went through 2 links trying to adjust mine. I guess I'm not surprised.

I had asked Sebastian before my bike ever showed up to set mine to " P ". Now I'm glad they left it on " F " ! Would have hated to have to leave my bike there before even riding it cause it was screwed up !

Ask him about Jay's bike. They went through hell with that linkage. We ended up leaving in at "F" until the first service. He had filed a report with DNA before I had left I believe.

That's crazy. Think I'll leave mine in F. Don't have any issues with it being too stiff. Reminds me of my R1. If it ain't broke.................
