Panigale V4 S original exhaust SOUND

I realise this is an older thread but it seemed like the appropriate place to post. I went to check out the Panigale V4 yesterday at my local dealer and they had a V4S with the Akrapovic slip-on system on display. The salesperson rolled it outside and fired it up for us, and holy mother of decibels that thing was loud! You really can't judge this thing by watching clips on youtube. The outright volume just doesn't come through. I've heard a few 1299s with Akrapovic systems at the track and they were nowhere near as loud as the V4. I was honestly a little put off by how loud it was with the Akra, and I'd be concerned about being allowed on track with it. By the way, it didn't have the baffles in, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it would have made. I'm interested in hearing the stock exhaust in comparison. Anyone else that have heard both? What did you think?

The Ducati V4 sounds different than any other street superbike engine cause of "twin pulse" timing. Even the Aprilia sounds different. You may like it or not, but it's like that.

Has anybody in the states who Has taken delivery of their bike have a full system on yet? I think they are on serious backorder with the full system ... if that’s the case I might change my mind about ordering the full Akra when I pick my bike up :/

It sounds like all of the full systems are going onto the Speciale bikes. I am wondering if there will be any available this year. Maybe one of the dealers on the forum can shed some light on the question.

I just heard mine should be here in a week or two. They are just a little delayed due to the Speciale commitment needing to be met first.

That is great news. Sounds like they may be catching up. The sounds of the full exhaust seem to be very close to that of the Desmosedici!
