The connecting rod bearing looks pretty sketchy. I think the piston squirter just got beat to death after the failure.

I can’t tell if the connecting rod journals on the crankshaft are discolored from heat or if that’s just residual oil on it.

Interesting this. Unusual to see a pin bore ripped out of a piston. Something got loose and was floating around in there. Probably got wedged between the top of the crank throw and the bottom of the skirt. From the pictures I see it looks like the bearings were ok. What did you end up doing with this?

Could you tell if both legs from the squirter were still intact? Something got caught. That's why it locked up as it ripped the pin out of that piston. The bearings and bores look good. Looks like any other low mileage motor otherwise.

On the bottom of the piston on the left pad there is a compressed mark. That's the tell from the culprit. Got between the piston pad and crankthrow at the bottom of the stroke. When it caught it applied a moment across the pin bore and broke the pin out. These kind of failures should never happen. If this was caused by one of the squirter legs coming adrift then every motor they ever built could expire this way.
