I want to put the foot pegs on for my girlfriend on my bike but I'm so confused as to how to do it. I was able to put them on and off no prob with the stock exhaust but with the full term system I have no idea where to start. Anyone have any tips or has done it before?

There are holes in the heat shield that you can stick a long allen wrench through. (I know that is the case with the OEM exhaust at least)....

There are markings on the Termi heat shield that you have to cut out so the rear peg assembly can fit. Also you have to disassemble the Termi headers, install the foot pegs and reassemble the headers. Thats because the header uses two of the holes where the foot pegs go. PITA.

You'll probably have more luck bolting pass pegs to your boots.

I think with the full system it has to come right off. You're probably better off getting a cheap monster for pillion work :D

Agreed, she'll have to settle for the R6. No way am I taking off the headers to put the pegs on for one day. Thanks for the help tho.

The pillions look like a small measure of fairing protection, although dropping on them will probably break them and possible the mountings along the way. I have them on mine just in case I need to rescue a damsel in distress :^)

I Did it this way, dont know if its the most efficient thou...

1. take seat off
2. take plastic around key hole off
3.take out bolt holding tank down (under seat)
4. Unplug ground wire and harness to tank.
5. Prop up tank ( i shoved a pillow in mine)
6. Take out bottom two bolts holding subframe.
7. LOOSEN top two bolts so that the subframe can pivot forward, This allows room to take off heat shield.
8.use dremmel on the cut out holes
8.Put it all back together.
took me about 45 minutes. hope this helps

I am thinking of getting a K1300S to solve my pillion comfort issues.

Thanks Trevor it worked. It took about 45min to install. I did not have to take the red plastic piece off of the subframe around the key hole tho.
