Hi!

I have the Termignoni fullsystem and have not installed the passenger pegs.
My local dealer told me that is was a relative timeconsuming job to put them on. My wish is to put them on when planning a trip with a passenger. Otherwise off. Any quick fix solution ?

Yes I'm just about to do the 'quick fix', it's called ' buy a multistrada'!

The install guide for the full system is online somewhere and I looked through it spanners in hand.

It goes from memory, remove or loosen tank, remove ECU wires, unbolt lower subframe bolts, swing subframe upwards remove exhaust cowl, go to shop, buy dremmel, remove cutouts in CF heat shield, bolt foot pegs on, bolt heat shield after deburring the rough edges, lower subframe and bolt on! Put ECU wires back on, tank back on...done....simples!

Hence I've booked a demo run on the Multistrada!

Because in the fitting guide for the full exhaust when you raise the subframe it pulls on the wires. Someone posted the guide on this forum or a link to it and it shows it in detail.

The guide can be ignored for all the header stuff but it has a section on fitting the carbon heat shield with passenger footpegs which describe it in detail.

It's a huge pain in the arse, dealer only in most cases I guess unless your pretty handy with a dremmel etc.

Popping them on and off ala 1198 is a non starter!

Torstebo,

As Andy1199 states there is a lot of information about the passenger pegs across various forum threads. Andy1199 has covered off all the major points. I have a full system installed with passenger pegs. It is NON TRIVIAL to install and/or remove the full system. Once the pegs are on they are on, unless you wish to remove the full exhaust system. I have attached a couple of photos so you know what a full system with passenger pegs looks like.

I have the full system fitted but want to put the rear pegs on after the fact.

What am I in for?

Thanks!

Termignoni & passenger pegs

I have a 2013 Panigale. I installed the full Termignoni system myself last weekend. There is not enough clearance between the top of the new Termignoni pipe and the rear assembly to put the passenger pegs on.

Doing so left no gap between the foot peg bracket base and the pipe, which would transfer heat directly from the pipe to the foot peg bracket. Inserting the foot peg between the pipe and rear assembly also created about a 2 millimeter gap between the engine frame and the lower rear assembly part that bolts to the frame. The pipe connections are fully inserted so pipe can't lower any further. Therefore, I had to leave the passenger pegs off with the full system.

My pictures are with the FULL Termi's (Original shield) and passenger pegs.

I will be fitting the FULL Termi (with the new heat shield) and passenger pegs.

I tried to install my passenger foot rests as the girlfriend wants to try the new (to me) pani. I've got an S with full termi, DP Carbon heat shield, and also realized there's no way to get the foot rests on without removing the heat shield. When I realized what a PITA getting the heat shield off was, I gave up (for now). But I fear this to be the case: it looks tight as hell in there. Looking for confirmation that full termi can fit with passenger foot rests, And with stock heat shield, and with DP heat shield. Just so I know what I'm in for. Thanks in advance.

Looks like that's a yes, I CAN fit my passenger pegs on with my termi full system + DP heat shield. Thanks!

Do I really have to pivot the subframe up to gain access?

Anyone have any luck with this? I just picked up a 2014 1199 S, bought passenger pegs on Ebay, realized it was going to be a beezy to install. Any tips from someone who's made the install on a bike will a full termi exhaust?

Found this to be somewhat helpful, it's on a 1299 but it appears to be similar.

I have no idea why Ducati bothered to put passenger pegs on a Panigale, the only passenger you can possibly take is a 20kg dwarf with an armor plated ass, and even then they will jump off mid ride and take their chances. These bikes totally suck with a pillion.

I have the full system and... The solution is really easy. Installing the passenger pegs backward places the pegs at the same level as forward if you just screw the main support. The secondary section doesn't require to be screwed on for a passenger, biggest I've had on was 160lb.
Some pads do the trick.

BUT WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!?

Well... You can easily screw them on and off without touching the full system... And honestly even without the full system this way it's easier to put on and take off.

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
