so, for the people that have fitted these to their bikes, did they help get your knees up on the tank?

i understand they have a lot of adjustment but also the higher you go up the further back you go....

I'm curious mainly for people that are "less tall" I'm a bit over 5'6"...

thanks in advance.

I heard wearing platforms help but I have no personal experience.

I'm 6'0 with aftermarket rearsets on the highest setting and still can only get my inner thighs flush into thegroove of the tank only if iI'm on my tippy toes but it is leaps n bounds better than stock. Not lightech but still.

haha...I taped about 35mm(it's about what the DP rearsets get you)of dense foam to the pegs to see where that gets me and I can get on to the bottom of the tank(on the lower crease line)....I guess I need to tape it to my boots!!

I'm about 5'6" and my knees just barely grab on to the lower part of the tank with Lightechs

It's not at the highest setting but for me personally this is the most comfortable:D

thanks for the pic...now for the questions

at that setting how much higher than shock you reckon, and...going directly up from that spot would be how much higher....and, how much rear of stock is that if any?

thanks for being awesome in advance!:D

heya Ruley I've had these for quite a while now so can't remember how or where the stock ones sat. Going directly up from where I have it at the moment would be about an inch higher ( I'm using the second last slot on the bottom row). If I were to move it up the next row and use the last slot it would be an inch up amd an inch back from where it is now. That's where I used to have it but it felt too cramped up on longer rides. Hope that helps :)

too late for me but here's a reference regarding stock rearward distance...

another thing I just thought of when I was removing the std rearsets in anticipation for the lightech turning up this week...

is anyone running the giant exhaust guard with these rearsets? reason I ask is for the bracket that mounts to the RH heal guard point for the exhaust guard.

cheers,

are you talking about the giant satellite dish that they call the updated shield?
If so then the Lightechs don't bolt up to the shield

No issues at all so far Ruley. I had these installed by Motologic when it was in for a sprocket and chain change. Few trackdays and they are holding up well just remember to use locktight. By the way, be careful with the screws Lightech supplies they are pretty ....... I ended up replacing a few with ones I got from Masters

Re screws: yes, i removed a friends when they traded their pani and found them to be a bit soft....mind you i think they were fitted with a high strength loctite not 222 or 243.
