Phucking haters...

Hate to hear about this kind of ..... Especially since I'll be traveling cross country on my Panigale and have plans on spending a couple weeks in various cities (including Chicago)....and am leaving the .45 at home.

Its definately a jealousy thing, same with cars, if you own a ferrari porsche etc then other owners of similar cars will appreciate what you have but owners of lesser models will either aspire to own one or be jealous of what you have, and they dont.
Unfortunatly some seem to think that the best way to deal with this is to try and take away/damage what you have rather than appreciate it.
There are just some folk out there who cant handle anyone or anything which is better than either them or what they have.
personally i wouldnt let something like this lie, and would have made sure i got his licence plate number, once you have that its not so hard to find out there address and pay them a visit.

Yeah, people really can be A-holes sometimes. I had just bought a Corvette and had the top off when I pulled into a gas station. I went in to buy something, came out and I had someone's strawberry milkshake( with the cup) splattered all over the inside of my car. If only I had caught the person......

Aprilias of MVs are not as known as Ducati. Only riders know them while Ducatis are known to everybody.

No need to bring race into the mix, as there's plenty on hate from all types. I would simply keep my Panigale away from areas where the Ruff Rider type crowd congregate.

I don't know what's with all the hate against Ducati's. I've been on a few group rides where some people have openly expressed how they feel about my bike. I never asked you what you thought of my bike and I frankly don't care to hear why you don't like it. What pisses me off even more is the Starbucks jokes on all the other forums, It's really starting to get old. Oddly enough I get more respect from Harley riders than I do from other bikers.

Anyone who's been around very many Ducati owners realizes there is truth to the stereotypes. The stereotypes are true of other brands, too....but when you factor envy into the situation the hate gets amplified.

I've experienced nothing but positive things from riders (including Harley guys) and have received more compliments in the short time I've been riding the 1199 than any vehicle I've ever owned.

+1 Same here, except I did receive more complements on my Harley Davidson than any other bike ( I posted pics of that bike in the "bikes you have owned thread".

So I live in Chicago and took my bike over to North Ave. beach because finding parking is so much easier on a bike. Got a ton of looks pulling in the parking lot (of course) and a few guys feeling good on their bikes until I pulled up.

Long story short, I caught a glimpse of some ....... grabbing a handful of sand and rubbing it on my seat and speeding away... (....... ghetto Mexicans)

WTF is wrong with people?

(it will buff out)

Sorry.. I hate hearing sh!t like this! When you sacrifice and work hard for things a$$holes like this can ruin it in seconds.. They are the ones that always feel entitled too..

Time to take it all back..

+1 again. As I was reading this thread I was thinking that this is probably the only thing other than 2 cylinders that Harleys and Ducatis have in common. Many people (including many on this forum) make negative generalizations about Harley riders (posers, etc.) just like others do about Ducati riders.

Frankly, both are ignorant views. I own Harleys and sportbikes and several of both over the years. To me the fact you ride something is the only thing that is important, not what type or model of bike you ride.

+1 except rice....(joking;))

I am a racist, and proud of it: any human that has a .... disgust me. I only tolerate humans with ....s and ......, and only when they know their place is next to me with an umbrella.

I am also racist to Harley-Davidson and BMW bikes, and to speed limits. Especially to speed limits. And cops, excepted when they have ....s and ...... and that they handcuff me on the bed. I love these ones, but they are a minority. :-(

One day, I will rule a world only made of Ducati and MV Agusta bikes and good looking women with umbrellas and handcuffs at each corner on roads without speed limits.

And still, I'm putting an alarm on my bike, and long for the alarm of RoboCop 2 (at the beginning of the movie, the thief is electrocuted to death while trying to steal a car).

^^

Hahaha!! Nice!! I remember that scene! I rather a flame thrower or a blade to chop their legs off!!!!

This is all new to me... I've had ducs for over 15 years, owners are usually more mature, in general, but its only been the last 5 years or so that Ducs have been mainstream. Never encountered a hater in-person, but northern California is mostly civilized... To the point of boredom sometimes.

I must admit, I don't like the new popularity, especially knowing that there are haters now... Bummer. But let me say, reliability is light years ahead now.

Ha, I could probably scare off a San Francisco hater with a slight sneer.

I was out at a spot called the vortex having burgers with my friends and brothers this weekend. After finishing eating and getting home I noticed someone decided to remove the cap off my rear brake master cylinder. F&@king idiots!

I gotta say in the past three weeks of rideing the panigale ive had only one bozo ride REALLY close and zoooom away in a yamaka r1 , lucky for him I'm just breaking her in still so I wasn't able to teach him a lesson! Btw this happened smack downtown on 3rd street too! Crazys are out there, guess just more severe in different areas!

Relax ;-) The R1 Rider was more than likely coming to check out your Tricolore. My R1 is usually not far behind my Tric'
