are the pillion pegs easy to remove myself? My partner won't be going on the back alot so i'm planning to put them on only when i take her out and normally i'll take them off.

Yes it is very easy. Just make sure you have the correct diameter and lenght of tool. I already stripped one of the inside allen bolts and I am terrified that it wont come off. Either way its a job that even a retarded monkey could do, but for some reason I barely could. :D
