I've just emailed Desmo Veloce to see if they are prepared to model solely the front bracket so that the stock shock will fit into it without any geometry mods making it double shear as opposed to single shear. Here is a pic of a failed bolt on a UK owners bike. And another of the mod kit. I am aiming to see if they will just sell the front support plate and bolts, and that wont need you to modify any other parts or change the geometry in any way.

I run the DV setup. You do know that you need to modify the shock to use the DV mount. You cannot use the stock Ohlins shock with the DV mount without modification. You will need to have the spring changed, the front shock mount changed and a hydraulic pre-load installed.

OK confused now, as DV say it will work without mods. Their website states:

"This shock mount is intended for Ohlins with aftermarket Desmo Veloce shock eye products but can be used with the OEM shock."

If the spring needs changing and you need to install a hydraulic pre-load adjuster, is this due to their mounting moving the shock slight forward or aft of the OEM position?

I think my VIN was part of this recall all these years. Tried my best to take a picture of it, can anyone confirm this is in fact the wrong bolt?

The DV front eye piece has no provision for preload adjustments so you have to use a hyd unit. The hyd unit requires the use of a shorter spring. The shock itself is not modified inter that the new DV eye, hyd unit and short spring.

I read that too and was also wondering the same question. It clearly says you can use that mount with an OEM shock. The second photo on the website appears to me to show an OEM shock mounted to their shock mount. After all it is just a bracket. I can see the preload nut and locknut in the photo.

Hmmm. Maybe it does work. Ask Jarelj. He ran the same set up. I have never seen the front DV mount used with a stock shock only the shock I described. Just call Richard at DV and asks him. He is in AZ.

I've emailed them to confirm what's what. Will let you know the outcome
