Hey guys. I have multiple sets of plugs for the 1299. NGK MAR9A-J and MAR10A-J. The bike ships with the 9 but several places list the 10 for the 1199/1299 as well. The plugs are identical except for the heat range. The 10 is a colder plug (NGK is backwards). Anyone using a colder plug on the Panigale? Thanks

I've only bothered with colder plugs under hard track use with the compression ratio bumped up. With stock internals and ignition timing I leave the plugs at the stock heat range.

I guess with high-octane fuel and a reduced spark gap colder plugs would give a more precise timing. But all this is just mystique to me :)
Guys here all install the OEM NGK MAR9A-J 6869.

I don't see how a spark plug would affect timing. Yes, I second the idea of a colder plug for hard track use.
