mine came with the heat shields in the box, I haven't put them on but as summer comes its is getting more difficult to put up with the heat for the sake of seeing the engine.

Well I got a nice flat tire finally after over 4k miles so I'm gonna go ahead and redo my wheels.

Meh. I gotta be honest and say it looks too similar to the 899. I really was digging the neon orange. In fact, that was something I was thinking for when I return mine to street to sell it... Customer picks the color, but I'd do something out of the box like orange or neon yellow...

Since you powder for a living, is powder coating forged aluminum a bad idea? Is the temps to powder too close to the forging temps or is that something to not have to worry about?

The 899 red is a 1 step gloss red. Guess I'll need better pics of the candy red.

And powder coating is usually cured at 400F.Aluminum takes wayyy hotter temps before it can be screwed up.

SL red?

SL red on the wheels? They do have a neon red/orange powder.It's hard to capture the effect in pics just like the actual paint on the SL fairings.

The red I did is just your normal chrome powder base with a transparent candy red over that.Those are just cell phone pics up there.I need to take some with my DSLR.

I think it would be cool to have that weird orange/red on the wheels.
