I was looking at the numerous things that are programmable through the computer yesterday and noticed that in Sport mode, the engine is set to 195Lo.

Now, understand that I have not yet achieved the 630miles/1000km to break this in yet, so I have no interest in adjusting this yet.

However, one has to wonder... Later on, should I choose to switch that to 195Hi... Is there a noticeable difference?

Just curious...

I have and I prefer sport mode with 195Hi due to the change in throttle response.

195Hi will snap it on quickly while 195Low is more progressive.

I like the Hi mode best on my 1199 - I feel the throttle response is snappier and actually gives me more control. I changed it once and never looked back, street or track. It is individual taste. Try it and use what works for you.

I don't think there's any reason to wait to test it either - from what I remember the difference in the settings is in the lower RPM ranges - the max HP is the same with both settings.

Thanks Guys.

I will change this as soon as I finish breaking it in....

I am old school... I don't like changing anything engine related until after the first service.

I have spend my riding time thus far trying to dial in the suspension to suit me.

+1 high, provides a more direct response. Can be jerkey if road is bumpy, depends on how light you are on the bars.

195Hi with the Throttle spacer kit to take out the play in the throttle = many giggles on every outing.

I was hesitant at first because of the big power in the 1199, the quick spin up of the 'R', and quick snap delivery the Hi offered. But after going there, it just seems so much more predictable now that I feel even a small twist = action.

I talked with Jordan about this very thing this morning.....You think its worth it???

My opinion would be only if your taking it to the track. Otherwise what's the point of a hair trigger weapon if your not gonna use it as intended? Do you need whiplash going to Starbucks? :D

I have my R in sport mode for the suspension set up for the road but have changed the power to 195hi and it works brilliantly.

after I complained about inconsistent throttle response, my dealer suggested using 195hi mode, more control, direct response. It's true.

For better throttle response, have to get rid of the stock cans and change the mapping.
