Just thought I'd post this up..
I live in a country that has very changeable weather.
Took my Panigale to the NW200 last year and it was unrideable with the supercorsas in the wet, bordering upon dangerous to ride fast..
Yes I know don't flame me these tyres are not wet tyres!!!
However!!!
I fitted Michelin Road Pilot 3's which drops the rear to a 190/55 ...
Totally transformed the Pani for the roads I ride....
This is my personal opinion and you may disagree but I paid my money and it works for me!
Bike turns quicker, feels a lot happier on A roads/ B roads don't matter. I can now ride the f@ck out of my Panigale on our scottish twisties without crapping myself about the weather. Finally I can fully enjoy my beautiful bike..
Hitting the German/Austrian Alps on Saturday for a 10 day trip!! Brand new PR3 tyres going on Friday morning. Bring it on!!

P.s no I don't want to change my sprocket to go faster or donate a kidney to lose weight..also I'd rather not chop the rear end of my bike to make it look better?? Like I spend so much time looking at my bikes ass? I was thinking of spending $5000 on new carbon fibre wheels so I could get the 1/4 mile down by 0.005 seconds but hey they didn't have them in stock so I bought a bottle of vodka and a once in a lifetime top class hooker instead...works for me. As does the bike....hoo haa!!get a grip mutha fukkas!!

Been curious about this.

Love the PR3's ever since I fitted a set to my Triumph Sprint a couple of years back. Was wondering when someone would throw some on a Pani.

I'm still undecided on putting on a 190/55 on the rear (PR3 or otherwise). Good to hear someone has gone that way with good results.

Thanks for the feedback. Based on this and another thread, I might go with a set of Bridgestone S20's when the OEM tires go away in a month or so.

It's alwaays a huge challenge for international OEM to built a car/motorcycle for the "world".The dynamics is too huge, some requirements will just fall through the gaps...

glad the tyre swap still let you spank the 1199, have a good one!

I've actually been very impressed with these tires in the wet. Absolutely shocked how well they've been doing actually.

Agreed. I've been through some pretty epic storms and the Pirelli's performed far better than I could imagine. Perhaps the PSI on the stock tires you had was set way too high?

Same here, it doesnt rain too much in Los Angeles, but when it does i have been impressed with the feel. Much better than i would have expected they would.

Our problem is that it does rain so rarely, that the oil and other debris comes up each time and it does get quite slippery, even in a car. But so far, thank goodness, all is performing well.

if you don't chop the tail, as ducati meant it to be, then you just plain have bad taste. also, we spell tires with an "i" now -- changed it about 100 years ago.

oh, and i meant to add, i do appreciate the feedback on the tires! :D i think i'll do the same, as the pirellis are ..... (as you would probably say) in the wet.

Agree that "race" tires dont perform as good as sport tires in the wet.

Also, I have switched sizes and now using 19.55's Bridgestone R10's! Loads more grip on trackdays and hot weather sunday blasts... Just adjusted my TC to intervene less... Not a problem at all switching down from a 200.55.

Works great!
