guys,
im trying to install the pass foot pegs, and dont look like i can get away with it without loosen and lift the sub frame, is this correct?
thanks
take the peg arms apart (2 hex bolts in the middle) install the one side first (can't remember left or right, take the one with the treads for the 2 bolts you just took out).
fix the larger bolts in the sub frame - there are holes in the heat shield to get right there.
put the other side on and rejoin the sides with the smaller bolts and insert the larger bolts and tighten to sub frame.
not so easy to explain in just words but i hope you got it.
yes ear foot pegs on stock exhaust
, but the 1299 comes different now, it has 2 cone act as spacers to mount the heat shield to the bottom of subframe, and i dont think i can get the cone spacers out without lifting the sub frame
I've just put rear pegs on my 1299s. When you undo the bolts which hold the exhaust on. you can pull down the exhaust just enough to pull the alloy spacers off their seating. Then wriggle the rear pegs in one at a time. But I could only get one bolt in where the peg brackets join. The other one will not go in past the heat shield. If you join the brackets together first they are impossible to fit.
