I use the Shorai. I use the battery tender that was supplied by the ducati dealer. The distributor in Australia asked me to send the details of that one to him and he came back with ok you do not need to buy one of the Shorai tenders. Just keep using the one you have. Over a year now and all still going well. BTW the Shorai came fully charged.

Does the battery really need to be replaced ?

I have never thought of it nor needed to replace a battery before in any of the bikes I have owned and they have always had Yuasa batteries in them. I now own and ride a 1299S and I am currently going through the whole break in period. I did see in this post a Yuasa battery so I am assuming the 1299 comes with a Yuasa. Granted I have only started and stopped my bike a hand full of times and have had no hassle getting her started even when she is hot. so is it really necessary to replace the battery or just something people like to do. I do appreciate the weight savings mentioned but I am really not concerned at the weight saving as this bike is hands down the lightest and most nibble bike I have ever owned and ridden

is it a necessary upgrade? nope. in fact, wait until December or January; the downside of lithium batteries will become evident, although lead-acid batteries aren't exactly happy either when kept at sub-freezing temps without a battery tender.

but it does shave a significant amount of weight very easily, and lithium batteries crank harder; something that's appreciated when Ducati historically tends to put anemic battery sizes on their bikes. and the way they keep their charge when they go untouched for months is impressive.

Quick follow up. Purchased a charger, got it to fully charged (13.2v). Within 24 hours, connected to nothing, the voltage dropped to 10.9v. Bad battery. Manufacturer has not responded to my email. This battery is way overpriced and the only selling point is that it is an exact size replacement to the factory battery. Not worth it with zero support.

Why does the Panigale Battery in the link look different than the one in your post?

Antigravity Batteries the lightest most powerful and compact Lithium Motorcycle and Powersports Batteries

Yours has the same part numbers etc as the OEM battery, but the one shown in the link on their website looks like this.

I think you will have to call them to get the Panigale specific battery.. Let me see if I saved any specific link to the Panigale one.

P.S. The description seems right, just the wrong picture on their Website..

Thanks.

I was thinking (hoping) that is what it was (that they just used a standard stock photo).

the earth x comes with extenders took no time at all but any lithium is good.

also earth x goes into sleep mode if that happens you need a lithium charger to wake it up. if it doesn't a regular charger works.

weight savings and performance is amazing on whatever brand you use.
