So I got the DP front and rear carbon fenders and thought I would try out Shift Tech for the shock cover to see what they are like. The mounting holes are too small to fit the metal bushings that go around the screws. I realize these are there for the purpose of being able to properly torque the screws without dealing with the plastic flex. I didn't measure but it looks like they are around .050" too small, not just a tiny amount, would need drilled.

Do you think I should drill out the carbon guard to accept these or is there a reason the holes are too small to accept them? Just use the screws and no bushings?

What has everyone else done? I know it's such a trivial question, but just curious. I installed it without the bushings and made it snug, but don't wanna go too far and crack things.

Thanks

You have to modify their stuff somewhat... The stuff I got looks good but the holes had resin in them etc.. They are good about exchanging it however...

I called Shift-Tech and they said it would be OK to drill the holes bigger with a normal drill bit. I did and all is fine now. Wasn't sure about cracking, chipping, etc with a drill bit but it was fine.
