I had my exhaust installed at the dealer and they said they had to remove the passenger brackets in order to accommodate for the space that the exhaust and heat shield take up. Did anyone else have theirs removed? If so, are there options out there to make it passenger capable again? (I.E. aftermarket passenger pegs??) or am I just going to have to have a bracket fabricated?

The carbon heat shield that comes with the full system has a cutout you can use to keep your passenger pegs. There is also a full set of optional instructions with the exhaust on how to install with the passenger pegs present. Your dealer should read the instructions.

The only reason to remove rear passenger pegs is to install new heat shield. The heat shield can be cut in order to put rear passenger foot pegs back on and there is a mark on the heat shield to do so. They just did not want to cut out to install passenger pegs. I know because they asked if I wanted it done.

They tryna play you homie.....

Hmm ..

The old full Termi system has cut-outs that allowed you to butcher the heat shield to fit passenger pegs on. I previously did this.

The new full Termi system does not have any cut-outs that allow you to butcher the heat shield to fit the passenger pegs on. The new full Termi heat shield has a steel inner bracket that makes cutting a little more difficult. Ducati do not recommend fitting passenger pegs with the new full Termi heat shield and that is why there is no cut-outs on the new full Termi heat shield, trust me I did my research on this.

There is currently no aftermarket passenger pegs that work with the new full Termi heat shield that I am aware of.

So, the question becomes it is possible to butcher the new full Termi heat shield so that passenger pegs can be fitted - yes and I have previously posted a video showing this. Is it messy ? - yes. Would I recommend it - No.

This is coming from a guy who has had passengers pegs on the bike with a full Termi old), whom has the new full Termi shield and would ideally have so again, yet currently does not.

I am very much considering having some special custom passenger pegs designed for the bike.

There has been a lot of bogus info related to the warranty recall for the Full Termi heat shield. The bottom line is that as an owner you are entitled to KEEP the old heat shield as nowhere in the recall does it state that Ducati requires nor requests the old heat shield be returned. They have been a number of folks screwed by the dubious practice of having their old heat shield taken from them.

If you dealer insists on keeping the old heat shield then report them to Ducati NA (for USA anyway).
