Hi Members,

The bike has a TTX 1100 tune shock with 9.5 kg spring. I'm getting wheelspin in 4th gear corners, how much is too much? Traction is on 2.

Thanks in advance

Tires?
Also, I would check your rebound setting, too much rebound (or compression sometimes) can contribute. On the other hand, you'd need to provide more details on everything before it can be tracked down.

Where in the rev range and what lean angle. No rear is going to withstand certain conditions

Thanks for the replies, running 180/60 SC2, will need to check settings with mechanic but it was set as per manufacturer. Shock is 1199 model, rpm around 9k.

Thanks PG, with regards to the traction control, can one run a 190/55, if so do you need to recalibrate it and how? Thanks

Some 190/55's are the same size and other manufacturers 200/55's. Direct measurement is the way to go, but I would just put on the recommended tire and see if it solves your problem, worse thing that could happen is more grip :)
I cant comment on the 1199 tire calibration but you need to do it as the system is sensitive to wheel diameter. If its the same as the1299, its a menu item that takes a minute to complete; select the calibration option on the settings menu (left/h switchblock, bottom button, long press) and the dash tells you the rest

Apologies, didnt click that it was an 899 doh! That changes things a bit- the stock tires are 180's. The manual says;

"In the case of minor differences, such as tires of a
different make and/or model than the OE ones, but
with the same size (rear = 180/60ZR17; front =
120/70 ZR17), it may be sufficient to select the
suitable level setting from those available in order to
restore optimal system operation.
If tires of a different size class are used or if the tire
dimensions differ significantly from the original tires,
it may be that the system operation is affected to the
point where none of the 8 available level settings will
give satisfactory results. In this case is it is advisable
to deactivate the traction control system."

So no tire calibration adjustment on 190's, that does not mean TC wont function, but its not going to respond as predicted in the book.
I would have thought that spinning up in 4th is a more throttle control issue than suspension and tires given that you're on SC2's. Before doing anything, go up to TC 3 and see if that helps.

Thanks, appreciate your assistance. Will give it a go.
