Race setup for V4R

Ducati Forum

It will be Barni who will be installing it, just trying to book some time with them now.

Here are the issues I have
-launch control doesn’t work
-doesn’t reflect evo2 electronics, should be 2 race mode settings

I have BSD right hand switches + had to get I2M left hand switches. BSD left hand switches wouldn’t work with dash.

They just updated dash software and firmware. Dash now has settings for actual V4R, previously there were just V4 settings - although I do not notice anything different. I am sure they will do it but make sure barni updates to PRO 2 - 5 software + 107-6 firmware

Be interesting to see what suspension settings Barni give you.
I found the 95 shock spring was way too soft for the bike with the stock swingarm position setting and liked the 105 spring. I've got a 95 spring in there now, but I'm currently using the +1 swingarm position, which I believe is the same as the standard bike.
The bike's reasonably stable now, but I find initial turn in very lazy, mid corner and exit very stable and confidence inspiring. Depends what you like from the bike I guess, but I'd prefer a faster steering bike. I'm not sure if changing the fork offset would help?

Sorry forgot to mention, pivot is +1 of course. The standard is 0.

If you want to turn in quicker, I would start with lighter springs, say 9.5. Thats what I would do on my BMW, haven't played much with Ducati as don't have any telemetry.
On BM I have Motec datalogger that helps a lot with decisions like that as you can see front and rear travel (min/max/avg)

Thanks Karl, thats useful to know! I will report back once I do this.

So, I've been running the +1 swingarm pivot for a short while now, and can't say I like it. It makes the bike incredibly hard to turn on the brakes. It's extremely stable on throttle or brakes, and once off the brakes turns well. But just a pig to ride.
I've gone back to the -3 setting, but with a much longer shock (317 vs 311), and the bike is a dream to ride, a lot more fun. Although, I was surprised at how close the lap times were.

Be interested to hear how Barni setup your bike, did you manage to get it booked in?

I managed a couple more days of working on setup, and think I've hit the sweetspot (for me anyway). Three seconds faster than the +1 swingarm pivot setting. Although, I watched an Italian YouTube and the guy was running +3! Think he's in the Italian National championship, but no idea on shock length.

Forks:
Flush with triple clamp (gold tube just under top of clamp)
Preload 5mm
Springs (l/r) 10.5/10.5
Comp 10
Reb 9
Airgap tbc

Shock
317mm eye to eye (not on shock stretcher)
Preload 19mm (10mm installed p/l)
Comp (h/l) 2/10
Reb 26!

Swingarm length 609mm
Gearing 15/44

I use Mupo suspension, so damping settings won't even be close to Ohlins/Bitubo/K-Tech. And I bought a longer eye to allow the longer shock.
