great setup
I have a 2015 high roof, ecoboost, long wheel base - with leather interior and interior walls. It is great.

I love the rubber maid idea. It looks great.

Awesome. I think the Transit/Sprinters are the way to go if you dont have a pickup(tow vehicle) and trailer. The rubbermaide stuff is very inexpensive and very sturdy.

Looks sweet Leon. The fold up wagon is awesome and works great for gear tech inspection.

Thanks. The fold up comes in very handy,

Nice rig Leon! I got a Transit 250 this year, medium roof, long wheelbase, and it's AWESOME! I pull my 16-foot race trailer behind it for our full weekend events, and I use it alone if I'm just going to a solo track day by myself. It has the 3.5 EcoBoost V6, 7200 lbs. towing capacity, and get 14mph routinely towing the trailer with 4 bikes in it. Awesome vehicle, can't say enough good things about it!

P.S. - You say you need an 899 race bike??? ;)

Jarel, I go to your site at least once a day to look at it. If it wasn't for my wedding in two days, it would already be in my garage. If it's still there in a few months, it's mine. I doubt it will last that long. Or, if one of my family members blessing me with some a really large wedding gift.

Well done nothing like a van . I have a LWB Volkswagen Transporter Turbo Diesel .
I could not be without my van now .

I'm looking at one of these now for track days. It would literally be just me, one bike and tool box.

Can I get away with the short wheel base with no rear seats?

And which rear doors are best? Tail gate or twin? Obviously twin is prefered, but could you get away with the tail gate version?

Cheers

I would go to the dealership and measure the length of the cargo space for the short wheel base. Or look online, I know the dimensions are out there. You need 81.7 in for ours bikes to fit. There is plenty of space width wise. But when you start adding generators, gear, fans, chairs, tables it starts to eat up all the space.

My LWB van works a treat for two bikes on a race weekend with all gear . Mine has the tailgate but either works well . I have one sliding side door but ideally both sides is best .
I prefer the LWB but the SwB with no rear seat will work well with one bike . I think you could fit two but you will be limited for room .

For those in America, do you know about Xplan pricing? Usually saves around 4-5k.

I checked Xplan pricing before I bought mine and I got a better price going straight to the dealership.

Loaded the tool cabinet. Good thing I can squat about 400lbs. Still plenty of room for two bikes.

Sometimes we get screwed in the south with incentives. I wish I had known you were buying one of my family members works at a dealership and could have possibly worked a better deal and saved you travel time.

Im looking forward to seeing this complete, Is the top vent going to be a pain?

Top vent a pain? Oh no, its control by a remote and I was in there last night moving stuff around and there was a strong odor of gas (possible because I put the generator in there) and it started raining hard. The vent has a rain sensor and closed automatically. oh, the vent works, after a minute or two the gas odor was gone. best $200 investment ever.

I went to Chicago because they were the only dealership in the country with w red transit, LWB with a high roof.

How do you feel about the interior height with the mid roof vs the high roof? I'm struggling with the difference of over $4,000 for the option. Either towers over the Chevy Express vans I had been considering.

I went to the local dealership and was contemplating purchasing the mid roof. I bumped my head and spilled blood twice in my trailer and wasnt about to do that again. The mid roof celing is fine, but I would hit my head on the pilars and that a no go. high roof all the way.

I had thought about this, I haven't found a high roof on a lot yet around me. Granted, haven't been trying too hard yet. But the Mid-roof I walked in could definitley cause some stitches. The main issue for me is that I need/want 4wd. Which means a further 13 grand from Quigley on a new transit. Just starts pushing the numbers way up there. Other option is finding an older, used Express/E350 etc that Quigley has already converted for 10-15k and spending another 4-5k upfitting it to my needs. However I'm back in a regular van. Yet also have 30+k extra in my pocket.

Nice rig.

When my company truck hits 200,000 miles I may buy it from them and use it for this. In the mean time, I'm just using a plain old 2008 F350.

My work truck is just a newer, better, regular cab version of this old Verizon truck:
